Back in Action is a Netflix action comedy starring Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx as former CIA spies pulled back into espionage after their cover is blown. Netflix published the official trailer on January 14, 2025, and announced the film would stream starting January 17, 2025.
What is Back in Action about?
Emily and Matt have left their lives as CIA spies behind to raise a family. When their cover is blown, the couple is drawn back into the world of espionage. Netflix’s trailer announcement frames the story around that collision between family life and the couple’s former work (Netflix Tudum, January 14, 2025).
The film’s premise was initially kept under wraps when Netflix announced the project in 2022. The later trailer and film guide provide the plot details now associated with the released title (About Netflix, June 29, 2022; Netflix Tudum).
When did the trailer come out, and when did the film arrive on Netflix?
Netflix Tudum’s official trailer page is dated January 14, 2025. Netflix’s verified trailer listing said “On Netflix January 17,” making that the announced streaming date (Netflix, official trailer listing). The film is now listed on Netflix’s title page as a 2025 release (Netflix title page).
