Yes—The Nightly and Us Weekly reported in November 2024 that Deborra-Lee Furness appeared to like an Instagram video alleging Hugh Jackman had “run off” with his Broadway co-star Sutton Foster. The reported like came from a private account, so it was not a publicly inspectable platform record. The video’s allegation, and separate claims about an affair, have not been established as fact by the cited reporting.
What did the video claim?
According to The Nightly’s 15 November 2024 report, gossip blogger Tasha Lustig posted the video on 26 October. It alleged that Jackman had blindsided Furness by “running off” with Foster while Jackman and Furness were still married. That phrasing belongs to the video’s allegation, not to an independently established account of events.
The Nightly said Furness’s friend Amanda de Cadenet commented in support of the video’s claims. It reported that the video had more than 25,000 views at the time; that is a historical figure from the article, not a current view count. The Nightly’s report also attributed the apparent like to Us Weekly.
What is known about the reported like—and what is not?
Us Weekly said the like was visible from Furness’s private Instagram account, and The Nightly relayed that report. The sources cited here do not provide an independently verified Instagram record or platform analytics. The careful description is therefore that Furness was reported to have liked the video—not that the action has been independently confirmed.

Us Weekly also quoted unnamed sources alleging a romance between Jackman and Foster and claiming it was the reason for the separation. Those claims, like the video’s accusation of overlap, remain allegations in the cited coverage; the sources do not independently establish an affair or show that it caused the 2023 separation. Us Weekly’s report identifies its assertions as source-based.
What the timeline establishes
- September 2023: Jackman and Furness announced that they had decided to separate after 27 years of marriage. Their joint statement, reported by The Associated Press, said: “Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.” The Associated Press report documents the announcement and its wording.
- 26 October 2024: The Nightly and Us Weekly reported that Lustig posted the video alleging Jackman had “run off” with Foster, and that Furness appeared to like it through a private account.
- 12–15 November 2024: Us Weekly and The Nightly published their reports about the video. Us Weekly also quoted unnamed sources making affair and overlap claims.
- May 2025: Furness filed for divorce, according to the Los Angeles Times. In a statement to the Daily Mail quoted by the Times, she referred to “the traumatic journey of betrayal” and described a “profound wound that cuts deep.” The quoted statement did not name Jackman, Foster, or a specific event, so it does not confirm the video’s allegations. The Los Angeles Times report covers the filing and the statement.
What was Jackman and Foster’s connection?
Jackman and Foster co-starred in the Broadway revival of The Music Man, a documented professional connection. The Nightly also reported that Foster filed for divorce from screenwriter Ted Griffin in October 2024. Those facts provide timeline context; neither establishes the affair allegation. The Nightly’s article reports the production and Foster’s filing.
