Florence Pugh’s “sneak peek” of Thunderbolts* was a brief, behind-the-scenes look at the Atlanta production—not a plot reveal or an accidental leak. In a clip shared on March 27, 2024, she appeared as Yelena Belova, showed parts of the set and crew, and introduced director Jake Schreier. Marvel Entertainment also amplified the video.
What was in Florence Pugh’s video?
Pugh posted the clip during filming in Atlanta. Reporting by ABC News described her walking around the studio lot in character as Yelena Belova, showing crew members and pieces of the set, and arriving at Schreier. She also showed the film’s title on a director’s chair and a shot of herself from the movie.

In the video, Pugh explains why she had been away: “I know that I’ve kind of dropped off for a little beat, but that’s partly because I was whisked off to Atlanta to go and shoot a movie that I’m really not allowed to talk much about.” She then adds, “But I can show you some things, sneakily, as long as you don’t tell anyone.” ABC News reproduced both statements from the clip.
Why call it a “sneak peek”?
The phrase fit the playful tone of Pugh’s offer to show a few things while keeping the film under wraps. The actual footage offered a glimpse of production—costume, crew, set details and the director—rather than a substantive account of the story. The reports did not describe a plot synopsis or major story reveal.

- After being ensnared in a death trap, an unconventional team of antiheroes assembles and embarks on a dangerous mission. Forced to confront the darkest corners of their pasts, will the group tear themselves apart, or find redemption and prevail?
It was not presented as leaked footage. TheWrap reported that Marvel Entertainment published the clip and quoted the official post: “Florence Pugh is here to show you a few things she can’t show you. Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* is now in production.” ComicBook.com also reported that Marvel shared the video.
Who else was associated with the film?
ABC News identified several returning Marvel characters and actors in its March 2024 coverage: David Harbour as Red Guardian, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. A broader contemporaneous cast list from ComicBook.com also included Hannah John-Kamen, Olga Kurylenko, Harrison Ford, Lewis Pullman and Geraldine Viswanathan. Those cast details provide context about the movie; they should not be confused with people or characters shown in Pugh’s short clip.

What the March 2024 reports do—and don’t—say about the release
At the time, the outlets reported different planned release dates: ABC News and ComicBook.com listed May 2, 2025, while TheWrap listed July 25, 2025. Those conflicting, historical schedule references are not a reliable guide to the film’s current availability. The video itself was a production update from Atlanta, with Jake Schreier identified as director.

ComicBook.com described the film as drawing on Marvel’s Thunderbolts team. That connection makes the comics a possible route for readers curious about the name and source material, but the reporting does not establish that a particular collection or edition directly matches the movie’s story.
