Crunchyroll has seen several reported catalog changes, but they do not all mean an entire anime series has disappeared. A U.S. report on October 5, 2026, said Akame ga Kill! had left the service; a community tracker also recorded removals, listing moves and language-track changes during the week of September 25–October 2. The available reports are examples, not an official, complete removal list.
Which anime have reportedly left Crunchyroll?
ComicBook.com reported on October 5, 2026, that Akame ga Kill! had been removed from Crunchyroll. The article described the series as unavailable on a viable streaming platform in the United States at that time. That is a media report about U.S. availability, not a Crunchyroll notice or confirmation of the show’s status in other countries. Read the report.

A viewer-maintained weekly tracker recorded two other title removals: Ghastly Prince Enma Burning Up on October 1 and The Tower of Druaga: The Aegis of Uruk on October 2, 2026. It also logged many catalog moves and language changes. The tracker is an observer’s record rather than a company announcement, and its entries should not be treated as a definitive list. See the weekly tracker.
Not every catalog change means a whole series is gone
The weekly tracker distinguishes among removals, moves and language-track changes. A film or special moved out of a series page may still appear under a separate listing; a missing dub or subtitle track can affect how a show is watched without removing the series itself. Check the title’s episode list and audio and subtitle options before concluding that the entire show has vanished.

An earlier community thread from July 2026 reported U.S. app removals including Blood Blockade Battlefront, Grimgar: Ashes and Illusions, Orange, Rokka: Brave of the Six Flowers and As the Gods Will. These are user-reported examples, not independently confirmed status checks for every title. Read the community discussion.
Why does availability differ?
Crunchyroll’s Help Center says, “This happens because streaming rights and licenses differ by country or region.” It explains that titles are licensed for specific regions through agreements with partners and creators. Crunchyroll’s explanation of regional availability.

Regional licensing provides context for why a catalog can vary, but it does not establish the reason for any particular removal. The cited reports do not confirm that a specific license expired, that Crunchyroll declined to renew it, or that a reported U.S. change happened worldwide.
Why are fans upset?
Comments on the weekly tracker include complaints about the absence of a “leaving soon” section and surprise when a show disappeared or moved. In the July discussion, users expressed disappointment and talked about Blu-ray alternatives, including concerns about out-of-print editions and limited availability. Those comments illustrate individual reactions; they do not measure how Crunchyroll subscribers broadly feel.

How to check whether a show is available to you
- Check your region. Search Crunchyroll while signed in from the country where you plan to watch. A U.S. report does not determine availability elsewhere.
- Check what changed. Look for the series and its episode list, then check whether a film or special has its own listing and whether the expected dub or subtitles remain available.
- Look for another legitimate release. If the show is not available to stream, check other licensed streaming services or an official physical edition. Confirm the exact title, region and edition, and check current stock before buying.
The July community discussion linked a Blood Blockade Battlefront Blu-ray listing and reported that it was temporarily out of stock while accepting orders. That report is time-specific, not a guarantee of current stock or price; verify the listing and seller directly before purchasing.
