What Crunchyroll announced
In an announcement published June 3 and updated June 15, Crunchyroll described a program of licensing announcements, world premieres, panels and other activities for Anime Expo. One hands-on feature was the Dubbing Dojo, where attendees could try voice acting with scenes from Attack on Titan, BLUE LOCK, Sentenced to Be a Hero, Solo Leveling and other series. The update added a Black Clover Season 2 premiere panel.

Crunchyroll’s Anime Expo 2026 announcement names One Piece in its headline, but the available announcement details do not establish whether it was represented by a panel, premiere, or another format. It would be inaccurate to assign it a specific event slot based on the headline alone.
Other highlights on Anime Expo’s schedule
The convention’s broader schedule featured programming from multiple companies. Anime Expo’s June 26 schedule announcement named these highlights:

- The world's greatest exposition of the pirates, by the pirates, for the pirates - the Pirates Festival. Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat Crew receive an invitation from its host Buena Festa who is known as the Master of Festivities. They arrive to find a venue packed with glamorous pavilions and many pirates including the ones from the Worst Generation. The place is electric.
- Magic Knight Rayearth: a world premiere with Rie Takahashi.
- Black Torch: episode one presented by VIZ Media and Crunchyroll.
- Kagurabachi: an anime world premiere.
- Black Clover Season 2: a premiere panel, also noted in Crunchyroll’s updated lineup.
- Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2: an exclusive first look.
These entries are not all the same kind of event: a premiere or first look is a screening or preview, while a panel is a discussion format. And the schedule highlights should not all be attributed to Crunchyroll; Anime Expo presented a multi-company program. See Anime Expo’s full-schedule announcement for its listed highlights.
Anime Expo 2026 is over
Anime Expo took place July 2–5, 2026, at the Los Angeles Convention Center, with programming spread across an expanded downtown Los Angeles campus. A June 30 preview described activity at Crypto.com Arena, The Novo, Peacock Place and L.A. LIVE, alongside more than 400 exhibitors offering exclusive merchandise and collectibles. SPJA CEO Ray Chiang called it “our largest and most expansive event to date.” The preview is available from Anime Expo.

What the organizers reported after the convention
In its July 10 recap, Anime Expo’s organizer, the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA), reported more than 422,000 turnstile attendance over the four-day convention, with attendees from more than 65 countries. SPJA also estimated the event’s local economic impact at more than $115 million and reported more than 1,400 hours of programming. These are organizer-reported figures and an economic-impact estimate, rather than independently verified attendance or economic measurements.
The same recap said Anime Expo would return to the Los Angeles Convention Center July 2–5, 2027, with credentials expected to go on sale in early 2027. Read the organizer’s 2026 recap for its full post-event account.
