What does a Walk of Fame star represent?
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce administers the Walk of Fame for the City of Los Angeles. According to the Chamber, honorees are selected by a committee of their peers, while sponsors fund the star, the ceremony and its maintenance. The Walk of Fame is free to the public.
Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said in the official announcement: “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor Chris Hemsworth with a well-deserved star. Chris is known for his remarkable performances that have captivated audiences worldwide,” and added, “Along with his many fans, I am sure his fellow Australians will be so happy to know that we are adding another talented Aussie to our iconic Walk of Fame.”
