The game show in the headline is ABC’s Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. ABC’s episode listing for September 24, 2026, names Matt Damon and Ken Jennings as contestants and Jimmy Kimmel as host. It confirms Damon’s appearance, but does not say that Damon and Kimmel compete against each other or that their long-running feud joke is settled.
What the ABC listing confirms
ABC’s official episode listing identifies the program as Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and lists Damon and Jennings in the September 24, 2026 episode. Kimmel hosts the current ABC version. The listing does not describe a head-to-head Damon–Kimmel contest or promise a resolution to their running joke.
How the celebrity game works
ABC’s 2026 season announcement describes the show as a celebrity-pair competition in which contestants play for a charity prize of up to $1 million. The episode listing names Jennings—not Kimmel—as Damon’s fellow contestant. ABC7 Los Angeles reported that Damon and Jennings previously partnered on the program and won $1 million for charity; that reported result is distinct from the format’s stated prize ceiling.
Why Damon and Kimmel have a “feud”
The feud is a recurring comedy bit, not evidence of a serious dispute. TIME’s 2016 retrospective traces the joke to Kimmel’s repeated sign-off gag that his show had run out of time before interviewing Damon. Over the years, the running joke became a familiar part of their public appearances. That history explains the headline’s “settle their epic feud” hook, but it does not establish that the game-show episode resolves it.

What viewers can—and cannot—take from the headline
The confirmed story is a Damon appearance on a Kimmel-hosted Millionaire episode, with Jennings listed as the other contestant.
