Chris Jericho made a surprise return to AEW on the April 1, 2026, episode of AEW Dynamite in Winnipeg, appearing during the planned contract signing between AEW World Champion MJF and Kenny Omega. The night also featured Will Ospreay defeating PAC and MJF beating “Speedball” Mike Bailey in the main event.
Chris Jericho returns in Winnipeg
Dynamite was live from Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and aired on TBS and HBO Max, according to AEW’s official recap. Tony Schiavone was set to moderate the opening contract signing when pyro interrupted his introduction. Fozzy’s “Judas” played, and Jericho came out as the Winnipeg crowd sang along.
AEW’s recap quotes Jericho saying, “Winnipeg … AEW … I’m home!” He left after the song played again. AEW’s official video also identifies the appearance as Jericho’s surprise return and notes his status as the first-ever AEW World Champion.
MJF and Kenny Omega sign for Dynasty
After Jericho’s appearance, MJF and Omega completed the contract signing for their scheduled AEW Dynasty championship match. The exchange grew heated, and “Speedball” Mike Bailey stepped in and challenged MJF. MJF accepted, setting up the main event.
