A definitive, current ranking of 25 longest Hollywood marriages cannot be established from the available dated evidence. The examples below are sourced milestones, not a claimed top 25: some durations are snapshots published in 2025, and ongoing marriages need current status and wedding-date checks before they can be ranked for 2026.
What counts as a Hollywood celebrity marriage?
Here, “celebrity” means a widely known entertainer or public figure, including actors, comedians, musicians, and television personalities. That is broader than “Hollywood,” which can imply film-industry membership; some couples below are prominent public figures whose fame is not primarily from acting.
A marriage’s duration starts on the wedding date—not when the couple began dating, moved in together, or became engaged. For a marriage that ended with a spouse’s death, the duration ends on that date and is labeled completed. For an ongoing marriage, the duration must be calculated to a stated cutoff date. This distinction matters: a couple may have been together longer than they were married.
Longest marriages supported by the dated sources
The table separates a record-backed completed duration from rounded durations published by The Knot in its September 30, 2025 update. Those 2025 figures are source-reported snapshots, not recalculated October 2026 totals or a definitive ranking.

Why this is not a reliable top-25 ranking
The Knot’s September 2025 article is an editorial list, not a comprehensive marriage-duration dataset. Its inclusion of Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn and of Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham illustrates the problem: The Knot itself says these couples never married, so they do not belong in a marriage-only ranking. Its rounded durations also cannot simply be carried forward as exact totals for October 2026.
Other names in the available coverage are useful leads, but not enough to fill out 25 verified places. The Knot lists Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Hall as married June 25, 1987; Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson as married April 30, 1988; and Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick as married September 4, 1988. It gives Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen’s wedding as October 7, 1995, and places Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, and Leslie Mann and Judd Apatow, among couples married in 1997. These dates alone do not establish their exact duration and current status on the cutoff date.

Parade’s older gallery gives Kirk Douglas and Anne Buydens’ wedding date as May 29, 1954, but its description of the marriage as 57 years is a historical snapshot, not a current duration. Ranking it alongside newer figures without refreshing the end date would be misleading.
Long relationships are not necessarily long marriages
For any couple, years spent dating or living together before the wedding should be kept separate from legal marriage duration. George Takei’s recollection of a period when he and Brad Altman lived together but could not publicly share their relationship provides historical context, but it does not extend their marriage clock. The same rule applies to every couple, regardless of how long they were together before marrying.

What celebrity-marriage statistics can—and cannot—say
A 2022 Marriage Foundation press release describes a sample of nearly 500 A-list celebrities who married between 2001 and 2010. It reports a 53 percent divorce rate for that celebrity group and 60 percent among musicians, compared with 32 percent among non-celebrities in the release’s framing. These are findings attributed to that study’s sample; they are not universal rates for celebrities, and they do not establish that fame caused a marriage to end.
Harry Benson, the Foundation’s research director, interpreted the results as pointing to “extra strain that being famous places on marriage, especially when couples are separated for long periods.” That is his interpretation of the study, not a demonstrated causal conclusion.
