They do not show that censors missed those scenes, that a regulator approved them without concern, or that an uncut version slipped through. A rating or content warning is classification—not proof of censorship or its absence.
Here are the examples the available episode-level records support, with the distinction between documented content and unverified censorship claims kept clear. The evidence does not establish ten verified cases, so this is not a ten-scene ranking.
What “made it past censors” would need to mean
To substantiate that a scene “made it past censors,” it is not enough to show that a show received a rating or that a content-advice page describes disturbing material. A censorship claim needs evidence of a specific edit, prohibition, block or other official restriction—and a clear account of the version involved.
That means identifying the title and episode, the scene, the territory, the platform or distributor, the release date and the relevant authority or version comparison. Japanese broadcast edits, overseas localization, regional regulatory cuts and later home-video changes are different things; evidence about one does not establish what happened to another.

The records below are from the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), a UK classification body. They describe content in particular classification entries. They do not establish how every country, platform or release treated the same material.
Recent anime scenes documented in UK classification records
Oshi no Ko: a marriage remark involving a 12-year-old
A BBFC entry covering physical media and video-on-demand/streaming describes a male character telling a 12-year-old girl that he would be a “social outcast if [they] were married.” The age context is central: the record describes an adult or male character making a romantic or marriage-related remark to a child. The quoted wording here is the BBFC’s published description, not an independently verified transcript of the episode dialogue. BBFC classification records

The BBFC’s classification record, dated 2024 for a production identified as 2023, describes a teenage girl groping another girl’s breasts over her football shirt. It explicitly says the inappropriate behavior is immediately challenged. That response matters: the record documents sexual harassment, but does not support presenting the scene as harassment that goes unquestioned. The same record also describes sexualized bathing imagery with strong nudity masked. BBFC classification records
Plunderer: characters lift their skirts
A BBFC record for the 2021 production describes a group of female characters approaching a male character and lifting their skirts to show him their underwear. This is a documented example of sexualized imagery; the record does not establish that the scene prompted controversy or that any censor missed it. BBFC classification records

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: graphic injury and violence
BBFC episode entries describe strong violence and injury detail, including severed body parts, bloodied bodies, and blood on people and clothing. Those descriptions establish that the relevant classified episodes contain graphic material. They do not establish whether the episodes were edited in another territory or release. Check the individual episode entry before attributing a particular image to a specific episode. BBFC classification records
Jujutsu Kaisen: episode-specific bloody imagery
The BBFC listing includes episode-level advice about violence and injury detail, including bloody imagery. Because a series listing can cover multiple episodes and dates, a particular image should be tied to the individual episode entry rather than generalized across the series. Why these records do not verify ten censorship failures
These examples support a narrower, more reliable answer than the headline’s premise: official content advice describes several scenes viewers may find troubling, but the cited records do not prove that a censor overlooked, approved, or left any scene unchanged. They also do not document ten distinct cases with verified censorship decisions.
A scene can appear in a classified release while still having been subject to a rating, warning or edit elsewhere. Conversely, a classification record that describes a scene does not establish that the record’s version is uncut. Calling any of these examples “uncensored” would require a verified comparison with another release of the same episode.

How to verify a claim about an anime edit
- Identify the exact episode and scene. A series-level warning is not enough to establish where a particular image appears.
- Name the versions being compared. Record the territory, platform or distributor, release date and whether each version is broadcast, streaming or physical media.
- Compare the same scene. Confirm that both releases use the same episode and edit lineage; note any change to imagery, dialogue, runtime or framing.
- Find evidence for the change. A censorship claim needs a source that substantiates the cut, alteration, block or prohibition—not simply a rating or a viewer’s assertion that versions differ.
A 2023 Reddit post alleges a difference in the international release of Mushoku Tensei season 2, episode 0. That is user discussion, not official confirmation, and does not by itself verify what changed or why. Reddit discussion
What the BBFC’s anime figures measure
The BBFC reported that specialist anime distributors accounted for 24.5% of minutes viewed for classification from January 1 to November 30, 2025. It also reported 18% in 2024, 13% in 2023, 8% in 2022, 15% in 2021 and 10% in 2020. These figures describe a share of classification minutes; they are not the share of anime that was censored, nor a measure of how often controversial scenes appear.
