IMAGE.ie’s January 2020 roundup named Elsa Hosk, Blake Lively, Eva Mendes, Lana Del Rey, Calvin Harris, Natalie Portman, Shania Twain, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lopez and Naomi Campbell as celebrities who did not drink. Their stories are not interchangeable: the article includes people described as lifelong non-drinkers as well as people who said they stopped after difficult experiences with alcohol. The accounts below are attributed to the reporting that published them; they do not establish every person’s current drinking status.
What “doesn’t drink” means in this list
The ten names come from IMAGE.ie’s 7 January 2020 Dry January roundup. It grouped people who had given up alcohol with people who had never started. Some accounts describe a personal choice; others recount a difficult relationship with alcohol. Not drinking, by itself, does not mean someone has a history of addiction or is in recovery.
Because the roundup is dated and the available reporting does not independently confirm all ten people’s present-day habits, the descriptions here reflect what the cited articles reported—not a claim about anyone’s status today.
Ten celebrities and their reported histories

IMAGE.ie reported that Hosk had been sober since age 20. The article recounted her public description of recognizing alcoholism and finding a sober community.

Bradley Cooper

Jennifer Lopez
The 2020 article said Lopez avoided alcohol and attributed a skin-related reason to her. That can sound absolute, but a later ELLE Australia roundup reported that she said she might have a sip during celebratory toasts. Her reported position is better understood with that qualification than as a strict never-drinks rule.

In a 15 December 2023 Good Morning America report, Frankie Muniz said he had never had a sip of alcohol. He said there was no particular reason: he recalled reaching 18 without drinking and deciding not to start then. Muniz is a useful later example, but he was not one of the ten in IMAGE.ie’s 2020 list.
Quick Recap
How to read celebrity sobriety claims
- Keep the dates attached. A report about someone’s past account is not proof of their current habits.
- Distinguish the histories. “Never drank,” “quit,” and “may sip on a special occasion” describe different experiences.
- Use people’s own terms carefully. A roundup’s account should not be expanded into a diagnosis or private health claim that its reporting does not establish.
