The View returned from its summer hiatus for Season 29 on Monday, September 8, 2025, with its live broadcast scheduled for 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. EDT. That date has passed: ABC’s Season 30 premiere was September 8, 2026.
When did The View return for Season 29?
ABC announced that Season 29 would begin Monday, September 8, 2025, live from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. The announcement was issued September 4, 2025, and described the premiere as a “Day of Hot Topics.” ABC’s Season 29 announcement also named the co-hosts returning for the season: Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro.

Is September 8 still the current return date?
No. September 8, 2025 is the Season 29 return date, not an upcoming broadcast. ABC later announced that Season 30 began Tuesday, September 8, 2026, live on ABC from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. EDT. The network said episodes would stream the following day on Disney+ and Hulu. See ABC’s Season 30 premiere announcement for that season’s schedule and guest details.
What else was scheduled around the Season 29 premiere?
ABC’s premiere-week lineup included Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Emma Heming Willis, America Ferrera, Ken Jeong, and Michael Urie. The network noted that the schedule was subject to change.

The companion programs also had season launches in September 2025:
- Behind the Table, the daily podcast, began its new season on September 8.
- The Weekend View began its second season on September 13.
ABC listed Behind the Table on Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Audacy, Google Podcasts, iHeartRadio, Pandora, SiriusXM, Spotify, TuneIn, the ABC News app, and YouTube in its Season 29 announcement.

How did Season 29 perform in ABC’s reported audience figures?
In a 2026 release, ABC reported that Season 29 averaged 2.620 million total viewers and a 1.74 household rating, ranking No. 1 among broadcast daytime talk shows for the ninth consecutive season. These are network-reported figures for Season 29, not current-season audience numbers. ABC’s ratings release provides the comparison.
When announcing Season 29 in 2025, ABC said Season 28 had drawn 2.545 million total viewers, up from 2.432 million in the previous season. Those figures were also reported by ABC and refer to earlier seasons, rather than the current schedule.
