Jack White joined him for part of “Seven Nation Army” during the monologue, then performed two songs of his own: “Derecho Demonico” and “G.O.D. And The Broken Ribs.”
How Jack Black’s Five-Timers Club induction unfolded
The monologue treated the club as a run-down lounge in need of a spark. Jonah Hill, Tina Fey, Candice Bergen and Melissa McCarthy appeared to welcome Black, while Jack White was presented as a member of the club for musical guests. Black and White joined in an SNL take on “Seven Nation Army,” and the performance helped revive the shabby setting. Peacock’s Season 51 guide and the Los Angeles Times recap describe the induction and monologue.
Black’s fifth hosting appearance was the April 4, 2026 episode. It was separate from his previous appearance on April 5, 2025, listed by NBC’s series page as Season 50, episode 17. Peacock’s guide has an inconsistent image caption that refers to Season 50, episode 16 and April 5, 2025; its April 4, 2026 episode heading and description identify the episode discussed here.
What Jack White performed
White played “Derecho Demonico” and “G.O.D. And The Broken Ribs.” ABC Audio identifies both as new singles and also notes White’s appearance in “Words to Live By,” where his guitar solo became part of the sketch’s joke. ABC Audio’s episode coverage reports the songs and sketch appearance.

Other sketches from the episode
The episode moved through several character-driven premises. The Los Angeles Times recap highlights:
- “Words to Live By,” a country song about people forgetting advice.
- An office worker growing frustrated with a talkative coworker.
- Black and Marcello Hernández as unconventional self-defense instructors.
- Black as a candidate for “The 301 Spartans.”
- Melissa McCarthy as an intrusive Airbnb host in “Airbnb Superhost.”
- Awkward husbands singing “Carry On Wayward Son” in “Husbands.”
The Times reviewer called the monologue energetic and singled out several of the sketches, while judging that the remainder relied on familiar formulas. That is the recap’s critical assessment, not a measure of audience consensus. Black closed with the line, “Stick around, we’ll be White Black!”
