The danger is tied to a Great Prophecy from the Oracle of Delphi. It warns that a demigod child of one of the Big Three—Zeus, Poseidon or Hades—could either save Olympus or bring about its ruin, with that demigod’s life at stake. These are the plot points Disney has confirmed; further story details from the novel should not be taken as confirmation of how the television season will handle them.
Which book is season 3 based on?
The season adapts The Titan’s Curse, the third book in Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Disney described season 3 as the first screen adaptation of that book. Reading the novel is one way to get the source-material context, while the confirmed television premise remains the one Disney has announced.
