What Ryan Reynolds’ Gambit clip shows
On August 27, 2024, Reynolds posted an approximately 20-second sequence with the caption “*whispers* Marvel Sparkle Circle.” Gambit walks through the aftermath of the fight at Cassandra Nova’s fortress and finishes with a knowing smile. The footage gives a clear answer to the immediate question: Gambit is shown alive after the battle.

There are two versions to distinguish. Reynolds said a version of the image can be spotted on a TVA monitor in the background of Deadpool & Wolverine. The longer sequence he shared was described as a deleted scene. So it is fair to say the film contains a background glimpse, but not that the entire released clip is part of the movie.
Does the scene confirm Gambit’s return?
No. A portal-like reflection in Gambit’s eyes is a visual clue, and coverage connected it to Deadpool’s nickname “Marvel sparkle circle” for Doctor Strange’s portals. But the reflection does not establish who, if anyone, is opening a portal, whether Gambit is being rescued, or which universe he might reach. The scene suggests he could have a way out; it does not confirm a future MCU appearance.

Why the scene was left out of the film
In a September 10, 2024 interview with The Credits, picture editor Dean Zimmerman explained that the ending already included an exchange addressing the people left behind. Deadpool asks, “We left some people behind. Is there any way we can service them?” B-15, played by Wunmi Mosaku, answers, “We’ll see what we can do.” Zimmerman said that exchange meant the film did not need to show Gambit again at the end.
Zimmerman also said Reynolds saw another use for the footage: marketing. As Zimmerman put it, “There’s never anything that’s shot that’s not utilized somewhere in some other way.” In this case, material removed from the film became a short promotional reveal.

Where to watch the clip or check home editions
Reynolds’ August 2024 post is the source of the extended scene. Home-release extras vary by region and edition, so check the specific product’s bonus-feature list rather than assuming it includes this exact clip. Disney UK announced a 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD release for October 22, 2024, with deleted scenes among the home-release extras. Marvel Japan’s listing describes a separate set with 4K UHD, 3D Blu-ray, and Blu-ray discs, released December 11, 2024, at a listed price of ¥9,790 including tax.
Disney UK announced a November 12, 2024 Disney+ debut in the UK. That dated announcement does not establish current availability in other territories; check the Disney+ listing for your region.
