Allin then forced Moxley to quit with the Scorpion Death Lock. The moment anchored a St. Louis card full of title defenses, a new contender, and post-match turns that set up more stories.
Sting’s return changed the closing match
WrestleDream took place on October 18, 2025, at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri. In the main event, Darby Allin and Jon Moxley fought under I Quit rules. As the Death Riders interfered, the lights went out and Sting appeared. He used his bat to attack the faction members, then left Allin and Moxley to finish the match themselves. AEW’s official event recap records the sequence; WrestleTalk’s report independently confirms Sting’s return and the finish.
Allin used the AEW flag, hit a Scorpion Death Drop and a Coffin Drop, then locked in the Scorpion Death Lock. Moxley quit, giving Allin the victory. Sting did not wrestle a separate match: his appearance was a dramatic intervention in the bout’s closing stretch. That distinction made the return feel consequential without turning it into a comeback match. Sting had retired from in-ring competition at AEW Revolution in March 2024, according to WrestleTalk.
The championship matches delivered several major outcomes
The rest of the card offered title stakes across the women’s, tag-team, world and TNT divisions. These results are recorded in AEW’s official recap:

| Match | Outcome | Why it mattered |
|---|---|---|
| Kris Statlander vs. Toni Storm | Statlander retained the AEW Women’s World Championship. | Statlander left with the title, then faced a challenge from Mercedes Moné after the match. |
| Mercedes Moné vs. Mina Shirakawa | Moné won a match involving her TBS title and the Interim ROH Women’s World TV title. | AEW’s recap says the win left Moné holding 11 titles and calls it a record; that is AEW’s characterization, not an independently audited record. |
| Brodido vs. Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita | Brodido retained the AEW World Tag Team Championship. | The champions survived a challenge from two established opponents. |
| Hangman Adam Page vs. Samoa Joe | Page retained the AEW World Championship. | The Opps attacked Page after the match, extending the story beyond the title defense. |
| Kyle Fletcher vs. Mark Briscoe | Fletcher retained the TNT Championship. | The title stayed with Fletcher after the defense. |
The undercard mixed a high-stakes prize with a title-contender result
Jurassic Express won the advertised $500K match
Jurassic Express defeated the Young Bucks in a match billed around a $500K prize. The figure was part of the event’s advertised stipulation, not a broader statistic about wrestling payouts.
The Hurt Syndicate earned a shot at the trios champions
The Hurt Syndicate defeated The Demand to become number-one contenders for the AEW World Trios Titles. That gave the match a direct consequence for the division’s next title picture.

Why the show’s best moments worked together
The strongest through-line was consequence. Sting’s arrival stopped the interference but did not take the victory away from Allin; Allin still had to make Moxley quit. Elsewhere, the card moved several stories forward in clear ways: Page retained before The Opps attacked him, Statlander won before Moné confronted her, and the Hurt Syndicate secured contender status. The appeal is not an objective ranking of every match, but the combination of a sharp surprise, decisive finishes and developments that pointed beyond the event.
AEW published its recap on October 19, 2025. The available event accounts establish the card and results, but not an attendance, viewership, rating or buy-rate figure.
