Marvel’s official video description supplied the team line: “We are the THUNDERBOLTS!”
What Marvel showed at D23 Brazil
Marvel Studios debuted an extended special look at Thunderbolts* at the first Brazil D23 fan event on November 9, 2024. Disney’s UK announcement said David Harbour, who plays Red Guardian, was there to debut the footage. D23’s event recap also notes that Harbour spoke about the film and that Florence Pugh recorded a greeting. D23’s recap of the event and Disney’s announcement describe the presentation as a special look, not a new title announcement.
Marvel’s official video is titled “Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* | D23 Brazil Special Look | In Theaters May 2, 2025.” Its description says, “We are the THUNDERBOLTS!” That wording is the clearest official statement of the team identity in connection with the video; the description does not attribute the line to a specific speaker. Is Thunderbolts the movie title or the team name?
At the November 2024 event, Thunderbolts* was the film’s title, while “We are the THUNDERBOLTS!” was the official video description’s team line. The official source text does not say the Brazil footage revealed the team as The New Avengers.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The distinction matters because later official materials use a different branding association. D23’s 2025 character guide styles the team “Thunderbolts *The New Avengers,” and Disney Store merchandise describes The New Avengers as the same team as Thunderbolts*. Those later references provide context for why readers may encounter both names; they should not be treated as words revealed in the 2024 Brazil special look. D23’s 2025 character guide and Disney Store’s adult logo T-shirt listing use the later association.
How the Brazil special look followed the first trailer
The Brazil presentation came after Marvel’s initial teaser. In a September 24, 2024 press release, Marvel Brazil said the first trailer and poster were available, identified Yelena Belova as the team’s leader, and named the returning characters featured in the ensemble. Marvel Brazil’s announcement of the first trailer lists:

Thunderbolts* is the title used for the film and the team name stated in the special-look description. The New Avengers appears in later D23 and Disney Store materials for that same team. Keeping the dates straight resolves the apparent mismatch: the later branding is context for the team, not a title-card or team-name announcement attributed to the D23 Brazil trailer.
