Their claims are advocacy, not a change to Holmes’s criminal conviction—and the reported attempt to rebuild Theranos technology has not been independently confirmed.
What happened outside the screening
Members of Just Blood, a group supporting Holmes, gathered outside the screening at Lincoln Center in New York City. Variety reported that the demonstrators used a “Free Elizabeth Holmes” car and handed out flyers and Just Blood shirts. Vanity Fair described a truck displaying an LED message, along with canvassers distributing T-shirts and flyers.
The protest took place as audiences encountered You Can See Everything, a documentary by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim. Vanity Fair reported that a theatrical release was scheduled for October 16, 2026; that was the schedule reported at the time and may change.
What Just Blood’s organizer claimed
Ryan Elhosseiny, identified by Variety as the person running Just Blood, said he had rebuilt Theranos technology using trial exhibits and patents. He told Variety: “I rebuilt Theranos technology from the ground up using trial exhibits and and the patents,” adding, “Turns out, everything that Elizabeth Holmes said is true. This is one of the most incredible technologies I’ve ever seen. This is airtight. Elizabeth Holmes is innocent and needs to be free.”

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Those are Elhosseiny’s claims. Variety reported that it found no official reports confirming that anyone had successfully recreated the technology. The reported reconstruction therefore should not be treated as an independently established result.
What the protest does—and does not—change legally
Holmes was found guilty of defrauding investors in 2022 and sentenced to 11 years in federal prison. Us Weekly describes the convictions as four federal counts of fraud and conspiracy. A group’s demand for her release, or its assertion that she is innocent, is advocacy; it does not overturn the convictions or alter the sentence.

Why the technology claim matters
Theranos promised to run hundreds of medical tests from a single drop of blood, according to Variety’s account. The documentary depicts Holmes as continuing to believe the technology can work. That depiction and the supporters’ position are distinct from verified evidence that the system performed as promised; the cited reporting does not establish that Elhosseiny’s reconstruction has been independently validated.
