SiriusXM later said his exclusive live show and classic library would continue through 2028. Stern described the arrangement as giving him “more free time” and a “more flexible schedule,” but the public announcements do not disclose his compensation or precise work requirements.
What Stern and SiriusXM confirmed
Stern made the announcement during his SiriusXM show, speaking to co-host Robin Quivers. “I’m happy to announce that I’ve figured out a way to have it all: more free time and continuing to be on the radio. So, yes, we’re coming back for three years,” he said in SiriusXM’s December 16, 2025 announcement.
The company’s February 5, 2026 Form 8-K described the renewed agreement as securing “three additional years of exclusive interviews.” In an August 31, 2026 announcement, SiriusXM said Stern would continue through 2028 with his exclusive live show and classic library. These statements describe the agreement from different angles: Stern’s initial three-year return, the filing’s emphasis on interviews, and the later release’s specific reference to the live show and archive.
Does the deal mean Stern will have a more flexible schedule?
That is how Stern publicly characterized it: he said the arrangement would give him more free time and a more flexible schedule. The public announcement and filing do not specify how many episodes he must make, how many days he must work, or any other detailed schedule obligation. His statement should not be read as confirmation of a particular number of shows or a set workweek.

When will Howard Stern’s SiriusXM deal end?
SiriusXM’s August 2026 release identifies 2028 as the year through which Stern will continue with the exclusive live show and classic library. The public materials do not give a more precise end date.

The live show remains exclusive to SiriusXM, including Howard 100 and Howard 101. SiriusXM says subscribers can listen in cars, on phones, and on connected devices at home through its app. Its Howard 100 show page lists the channel and app listening options.

Adapted video version: HBO Max
SiriusXM announced an adapted, streamable version of the live show for HBO Max, with new episodes on Thursdays beginning September 17, 2026. That is a separate video format; it is not the live SiriusXM broadcast. The company’s release says the live SiriusXM episodes begin on Mondays, starting September 14, 2026.

The official announcement and company filing do not publish Stern’s compensation or precise episode and workday requirements. The Associated Press also noted that the announcement offered few details. Its December 16, 2025 report covered the renewal but did not establish a contract value. Figures or schedule claims from other reports should not be treated as confirmed terms unless supported by disclosed contract details.
