In a Facebook post reported by The Independent on March 1, 2025, his brother Chad Schwieterman said: “He recently found out he had an aggressive form of stage 4 cancer and passed yesterday evening.” Neither that reported statement nor the obituary names a specific cancer type, so one should not be inferred.
His best-known role was Kurt Bozwell in Good Burger
Schwieterman played Kurt Bozwell, the owner of the rival Mondo Burger restaurant, in the 1997 comedy Good Burger. The family obituary calls him “the lead villain” in the film and identifies the character as the owner of Mondo Burger.

After high school, Schwieterman moved to California and pursued acting. The family obituary also names television roles in McKenna and ER, and says he returned to film in Along the Way in 2007. The Television Academy profile lists Good Burger, American Intellectuals, Fallen Arches and Along the Way, as well as television appearances including ER, Forever, Felicity and Undressed. The profile spells his surname “Schweiterman.” A Jefferson City News Tribune report identifies Along the Way as his last onscreen role; these are selected credits, not a complete filmography.
