Actor Derek Dixon sued Tyler Perry in June 2025, alleging sexual harassment, assault and retaliation connected to his work on Perry’s television productions, including The Oval. How Perry responded
Perry’s attorney, Matthew Boyd, denied the allegations. In a statement reported by CBS News and the Associated Press on June 18, 2025, Boyd said: “This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam.” He also said, “But Tyler will not be shaken down, and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail.” Those are the defendant’s assertions, not findings by a court. Where the case stood in the latest dated update
The case began under Los Angeles County Superior Court number 25STCV17235. According to a procedural timeline maintained by Dixon’s counsel, it was removed to federal court in September 2025, then transferred in December 2025 to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, where it was assigned number 1:25-cv-07102-SEG-CCB. The same timeline says an amended and verified complaint was filed on April 1, 2026, and that defendants’ motion to dismiss that complaint was fully briefed on June 22, 2026. The timeline’s latest update located is dated September 10, 2026. It does not establish a later ruling, so no outcome should be inferred from the briefing status alone.

A civil complaint sets out a plaintiff’s allegations and requested relief; filing it is not a criminal conviction or a judicial determination that the alleged conduct occurred.
