Her complaint accused Sean “Diddy” Combs and Joseph Sherman of sexually assaulting her in 2001 and alleged that the assault was recorded and later distributed. Those are allegations in a complaint, not findings that the events occurred.
Who is Thalia Graves?
Graves is identified in the court record as the plaintiff who brought the civil action against Combs and Sherman. The complaint is the primary record of her allegations and the date she filed; it does not independently prove them.
What did Graves accuse Combs and Sherman of?
In her September 24, 2024 complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Graves alleged that Combs and Sherman sexually assaulted her in 2001. She also alleged that the assault was recorded and that the recording was later distributed. A separate federal court order summarized those allegations as claims made in Graves’s earlier case; it did not decide whether they were true.
What did Graves say about the alleged recording?
The complaint says Graves learned in November 2023 about the alleged recording. The Associated Press reported the same account. Neither the complaint nor that report, as reflected in the sources cited here, independently confirms that a recording existed or was distributed.

How does Joseph Sherman’s separate lawsuit fit in?
Sherman later brought a separate lawsuit against Graves and her lawyer, Gloria Allred. Courts dismissed Sherman’s complaint in June 2025, denied reconsideration in January 2026, and awarded Graves and Allred $62,959.50 in attorney fees in September 2026. Those rulings addressed Sherman’s separate claims and related fees; they did not determine whether Graves’s allegations against Combs and Sherman were true or false.
