The claim rests on an unnamed source’s account; the reporting reviewed does not independently establish that O’Brien intervened or that anyone attempted to call 911.
What the 911 allegation says
On December 20, 2025, The Daily Wire repeated an account from the Daily Mail attributed to an unnamed party source. The source alleged that Rob and Nick Reiner argued, that someone wanted to call police, and that O’Brien discouraged guests from doing so. The Daily Wire also reported words attributed to O’Brien, but those words came through the unnamed source; they are not an on-record statement by O’Brien.

Because the account is anonymous and has not been independently verified in the reporting reviewed, it is not established that O’Brien stopped anyone from calling 911. The reports also do not establish whether a call was actually attempted. The Daily Wire’s account.
Why the accounts of the party differ
In February 2026, the Los Angeles Times reported that two party attendees described a loud verbal exchange between Nick Reiner and his parents. TheWrap, meanwhile, reported that a Hollywood executive who attended disputed the description of a blowout argument. These are differing attendee accounts; the reporting reviewed does not resolve what happened or establish whether anyone tried to call police.

What O’Brien later said—and what it does not confirm
The Los Angeles Times quoted O’Brien discussing his shock after learning that Rob and Michele Reiner had died. He said, “To have that experience of saying good night to somebody and having them leave and then find out the next day that they’re gone … I think I was in shock for quite a while afterward.” The remark concerns his reaction to the deaths; it does not confirm or deny the specific allegation about a 911 call.

- Whether a guest actually attempted to call 911 or police.
- What O’Brien said or did at the party in response to any suggestion of calling.
- Whether the reported exchange was a loud disagreement, a “blowout,” or something else; accounts differ and the reports reviewed do not settle the point.
