What is inside
TASCHEN says the book gathers more than 400 historic photographs, including rare photographs of John Holmes. How to read its historical framing
The volume is best understood as a visual collection documenting a particular period and its photographers, studios, and models. Its historical context is the publisher’s framing of the material; the available product and bibliographic descriptions do not provide a separate academic evaluation.

TASCHEN’s product description also states that people with measurements above 20 cm account for less than 2% of the world’s population. The page supplies no study or method for that figure, so it should be treated as an unsubstantiated publisher claim rather than verified demographic evidence. The book’s “more than 400” figure, by contrast, is the publisher’s count of photographs, not a scientific statistic.
