In Haley Coomes’s September 3, 2024, ClickOrlando ranking, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire was the best of Universal Orlando’s 10 Halloween Horror Nights 33 houses, while The Museum: Deadly Exhibits came last. Coomes says she weighed scare, creativity and memorability; the order reflects one reviewer’s taste, not a universal verdict.
How the ranking works
This list covers Halloween Horror Nights 33 at Universal Studios Florida—not Universal Studios Hollywood. The Orlando event ran on select nights from August 30 through November 3, 2024, and featured 10 haunted houses, according to Universal Orlando Resort’s event overview. Its lineup combined licensed film properties with original concepts. The event has ended; this is a historical ranking, not current-season guidance.
The order below follows ClickOrlando digital journalist Haley Coomes’s September 3, 2024, list. Her stated criteria were scare, creativity and memorability. The brief notes on each house summarize her review, rather than claiming a controlled or objective comparison. Familiarity with a franchise, individual scare response, pacing and personal taste can all change which house a visitor would rank first.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire
At the top of Coomes’s list, this house centered on Garraka and an ancient artifact. She liked how it recreated the film’s sequence of events and included references to earlier films. Her review also reported that the Ecto-1 used in the house was one of 25 in the world; that detail is attributed to the review.
Which house was best?
By Coomes’s ranking, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire was the best house, and The Museum: Deadly Exhibits was the weakest overall. That answer is useful if you want to know how this particular reviewer judged the event; it does not settle which house every visitor would prefer. Coomes’s list balances scares with creativity and memorability, so a guest who values franchise details, fantasy, gore or theatrical effects differently could reasonably have a different favorite.
Universal’s August 7, 2024 HHN 33 overview describes the premises across the lineup, from the film worlds of A Quiet Place and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire to the original settings of Triplets of Terror, The Museum: Deadly Exhibits, Major Sweets Candy Factory and Goblin’s Feast. Those contrasting concepts help explain why a single ranking cannot capture every visitor’s idea of the strongest house.
