Nkechi Diallo, formerly known as Rachel Dolezal, posted “Keep on living” after the Catalina Foothills School District in Tucson, Arizona, confirmed in February 2024 that she was no longer employed. The district said it learned of her OnlyFans social-media posts and that they were contrary to its social-media and staff-ethics policies.
Why the district said Diallo was no longer employed
On Feb. 14, 2024, district spokesperson Julie Farbarik told PEOPLE, in a report republished by Yahoo, that the district had learned of Diallo’s OnlyFans posts the previous afternoon. Farbarik said: “Her posts are contrary to our district’s ‘Use of Social Media by District Employees’ policy and our staff ethics policy. She is no longer employed by the Catalina Foothills School District.”
The district’s public explanation was its stated policy rationale. The coverage did not reproduce the policies or include a substantive response from Diallo addressing that rationale. The district confirmed she was no longer employed; the reports do not establish further details about the employment decision.
What work Diallo did for the district
PEOPLE reported that Diallo worked part-time as an after-school extended-day instructor in the district’s Community Schools Program and as a substitute through the district’s contracted substitute provider. The work was described as serving kindergarten through fifth-grade students. The report said she was hired in August 2023 and that her contract was scheduled to run through May 24, 2024, attributing the contract detail to the Arizona Daily Star.

What Diallo said after the news
In an Instagram Story reported by E! News on Feb. 16, 2024, Diallo wrote, “Keep on living.” PEOPLE’s report also quoted her telling followers who asked how to support her: “Show some love with an order from my art website.” The posts offered a brief public response and directed followers toward her art; they did not address the district’s stated policy reasons.

PEOPLE’s coverage notes that Diallo legally changed her name in 2017 and published the memoir In Full Color: Finding My Place in a Black & White World. It also recounts her 2015 appearance on The Real, where she said she was “biologically born White to White parents, but I identify as Black.” Those details provide context for the name attached to the story, but the February 2024 employment report concerned her district work and the district’s response to her social-media posts.
