Public accounts offer more detail about Wanda’s education and career than about Tommy’s life, while later interviews provide time-specific glimpses of the family’s public comments about Wendy.
Who are Wendy Williams’ siblings?
- Wanda: Wendy’s older sister. Later reporting identifies her as Wanda Finnie; that reporting does not establish a formal name change.
- Thomas “Tommy” Williams Jr.: Wendy’s younger brother. He is distinct from their father, Thomas Williams Sr.
Wendy grew up between her older sister and younger brother. The New Yorker’s 2021 profile describes Wanda as an overachiever who became a lawyer and Tommy as the youngest child. The New Yorker’s profile also recounts Wendy’s memories of the family.
What is known about Wanda?
Wanda was a strong student. Biography.com reports that she attended Tufts University at 16, and that Wendy later followed her to Boston to attend Northeastern University. The available accounts identify Wanda as a lawyer but do not provide a detailed account of her current career. Biography.com’s Wendy Williams biography covers the sisters’ educational paths.
Wendy recalled feeling like an outcast in her family and described Tommy as the boy who “could do no wrong,” according to The New Yorker. That is Wendy’s characterization of her childhood family dynamics, not an independently established judgment about how each sibling was treated.

What have Wanda and Tommy said publicly about Wendy?
Wanda’s comments in 2024
Wanda participated in Lifetime’s documentary series Where Is Wendy Williams? The Los Angeles Times reported in February 2024 that she agreed to be interviewed. The documentary’s producers said they placed her interview late in the series so viewers could understand the story as it unfolded; that explanation reflects the producers’ account of their editorial choice. The Los Angeles Times reported on the interview and production.
In February 2024, Wanda told People that “The people who love her cannot see her,” and asked, “How the hell did we get here?” The Associated Press relayed those remarks in reporting about what the family said at that time. They describe the family’s account in 2024, not Wendy’s present circumstances or the siblings’ current access to her. The Associated Press report provides that context.

Tommy’s comments in 2025
A CNN transcript dated January 16, 2025 records Tommy saying in an interview that he had spoken with Wendy the previous night. It establishes what he said then; it does not establish the family’s current pattern of contact. CNN’s January 16, 2025 transcript contains the interview.

These accounts provide a few dated details: Wanda’s education and legal career, Wendy’s recollections of growing up with her siblings, Wanda’s participation and comments in 2024, and Tommy’s statement in a 2025 interview. They do not establish the siblings’ current occupations, residences, relationship status, or present-day contact with Wendy. The family’s circumstances should not be inferred from comments made in earlier years.
