What “strongest” means in an MCU ranking
Physical strength and overall ability to win a fight are different measures. A ranking of who can lift, strike, or overpower the most would not answer the broader question of who is most formidable on screen. Overall capability also depends on durability, energy output, speed and mobility, versatility, combat skill, and effectiveness against serious opponents.
Marvel’s March 11, 2019 article, “Why Captain Marvel Is the Most Powerful Hero in the Marvel Universe: An Infographic,” uses dimensions including durability, energy projection, fighting skill, intelligence, speed, and strength, and frames some comparisons as estimates from feats. It is not an MCU-only ranking, so its comparisons and figures cannot be transferred to the screen portrayals.

What the cited MCU material establishes
Scarlet Witch: powerful, but not assigned a rank
Marvel’s Scarlet Witch character page describes Wanda Maximoff as notably powerful and says she has fought both with and against the Avengers. That supports including her in a discussion of formidable characters. It does not prove that she is first, or establish where she belongs relative to other MCU characters.
Doctor Strange: a different kind of capability
Marvel’s on-screen Doctor Strange profile describes Stephen Strange as a former surgeon who defends against magical and mystical threats using magic and mystical artifacts. That profile shows why a physical-strength-only list would miss important kinds of capability. It does not provide a standardized measure or comparative rank.

Thor and Hulk: shared context, not an overall verdict
Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok page describes Thor imprisoned without his hammer and confronting Hela, and identifies Hulk as his fellow gladiatorial opponent. This offers a shared-screen context for considering the two; it does not settle their overall order across all MCU appearances or establish a ranking against characters outside that story.

How to read “strongest MCU characters” lists
Before trusting a numbered list, check whether it specifies a screen-only cutoff, distinguishes raw strength from overall fighting capability, and gives comparable on-screen evidence for every entry. Treat exact ordering as opinion unless Marvel itself publishes an MCU-wide ranking with a defined method. A character description or a comics ranking can inform the discussion, but neither by itself proves a precise MCU placement.
