Van Lith and Reese had been college teammates at LSU, and the AP report described their reunion in the WNBA. Van Lith said, “We both are just tough dogs on the court,” explaining that Reese was willing to do less glamorous work to win and that she shared that approach. Was Van Lith still with the Chicago Sky after her rookie season?
No. On May 4, 2026, the Sky announced that they had waived Van Lith. The team’s release confirmed that she was its No. 11 pick in the 2025 draft and said she appeared in 29 games during her rookie season, averaging 3.5 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.
