The Jedi identify Osha as the suspect. She is a former Padawan who left the Order before completing her training and now works as a meknek, a mechanic who takes repair jobs aboard a cargo freighter. Osha denies killing Indara. The episode does not establish her guilt; it shows the Jedi pursuing her because they believe she is the killer.
Why do the Jedi suspect Osha?
Osha’s past ties her to the Order and make the accusation personal. Her former Master, Sol, is among the Jedi sent to retrieve her. The official episode guide presents Osha as accused, not as Indara’s confirmed killer. The distinction matters: the premiere lets the Jedi’s suspicion drive the chase while Osha maintains her innocence.

Mae and Osha are both played by Amandla Stenberg, a detail that gives the mistaken-identity premise a literal face. Mae is a trained assassin hunting Jedi Masters; Osha is a mechanic living outside the Order. Their shared appearance connects them, but their lives and what each knows are sharply different.
How does Osha end up on Carlac?
After her arrest, Osha is sent toward Coruscant aboard a prison ship. An escape disrupts the journey, and the ship crashes on snowy Carlac. The change from a formal arrest to a remote crash leaves Osha separated from the authorities transporting her and shifts the pursuit into a rescue mission.

Vernestra Rwoh sends Sol, Padawan Jecki Lon, and Jedi Knight Yord Fandar to retrieve Osha. Sol’s involvement connects the search to Osha’s former life as his Padawan, while Jecki and Yord join the effort as fellow Jedi. Their mission is to find her on Carlac; the episode’s closing reveal gives that search a new meaning.
Is Mae alive in The Acolyte?
Yes. The episode ends by revealing that Mae, Osha’s long-lost twin, survived. Osha had believed Mae dead for 16 years. That final turn recasts the accusation: the woman the Jedi are pursuing as Osha is not necessarily Osha at all, and Mae’s survival links the attack on Indara to the sisters’ shared past.

The title “Lost / Found” can be read as a thematic cue to the sisters’ separation and rediscovery, though it is an interpretation rather than an official explanation. The episode leaves the mystery unresolved: Mae and Osha have taken different paths, and the audience knows something Osha does not—that her twin is alive.
