For a nonstop prerecorded YouTube stream, choose a VPS by its included monthly outbound transfer first, then check its India region, storage, workload fit, recovery options and operating-system requirements. A Mumbai location or a 1 Gbps port alone does not establish a reliable route to YouTube or prove that OBS will run well. One currently listed option is Endercloud’s Mumbai entry VPS at ₹999/month, but its published specifications are not streaming test results—and the available evidence does not establish a market-wide “best” provider.
Estimate how much bandwidth a 24/7 stream needs
For a constant bitrate, estimate decimal video payload with this formula:
Mbps Ă— seconds streamed Ă— days Ă· 8,000 = approximate GB
For 30 days of nonstop streaming, the estimate is about 1.62 TB at 5 Mbps and 3.24 TB at 10 Mbps. These figures exclude protocol overhead, reconnects, other server traffic and differences in how providers count bandwidth. Leave headroom, and confirm the provider’s billing units, overage charges and throttling or suspension rules before buying.
#1 Best Overall
YouTube Help’s encoder guidance, checked October 4, 2026, recommends these H.264 bitrate examples:
| Output | Recommended bitrate |
|---|---|
| 720p30 | 3 Mbps |
| 720p60 | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p30 | 5 Mbps |
| 1080p60 | 14 Mbps |
These are YouTube platform recommendations, not a guarantee of stream reliability. At the 5 Mbps 1080p30 example, Endercloud’s listed 2 TB allowance is above the estimated video payload before overhead; at 10 Mbps, the estimate exceeds that allowance. This is arithmetic against the published allowance, not a statement about the provider’s metering or sustained throughput.

What the currently listed Mumbai VPS includes
Endercloud’s India VPS page currently lists the following entry plan. These are provider-published specifications, not independently measured OBS performance; confirm checkout terms and availability before purchase.
| Plan | Listed price | Compute | Storage | Bandwidth | Location |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| INDIA-VPS-8GB | ₹999/month | 3 vCore, 8 GB DDR4 ECC RAM | 50 GB NVMe | 2 TB at 1 Gbps | Mumbai |
At the estimated 5 Mbps 30-day payload, the listed allowance has room before overhead; at 10 Mbps it does not. Larger Endercloud listings show 3 TB at ₹1,999, 4 TB at ₹2,999 and 5 TB at ₹3,999, with increased stated compute and storage. Verify current renewal pricing, taxes, setup costs, bandwidth accounting and overage terms directly on the Endercloud plans page.

How to compare VPS plans for OBS streaming
| Check | What to verify | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly transfer | Included outbound data, billing unit, overage price, throttling and suspension rules | A nonstop stream can use terabytes in a month. |
| Effective recurring cost | Renewal price, taxes, setup fees and transfer overages | An introductory rate may not reflect the ongoing cost. |
| Region and route | Actual datacenter location and a route test to YouTube ingest | A city label does not establish route quality. |
| Workload | Whether the workflow relays/remuxes a file or transcodes it; codec, resolution, frame rate and number of streams | Compute needs depend on the processing workload. There is no universal VPS size established for OBS streaming. |
| Storage | Usable disk space for source media and the operating system | Listed capacity is not necessarily all available for video files. |
| Operating system and OBS | Supported OS, remote desktop or GUI needs, licensing and GPU/encoder access | The intended OBS setup may require extra administration or licensing. |
| Resilience | Reboot persistence, process supervision, maintenance, backups, alerts and restart procedure | Continuous streaming needs a recovery plan, not just a fast port. |
| Terms and support | Streaming permitted use, account limits, support availability, refund terms and SLA scope | Confirm the terms that apply to your account; a marketing claim is not a performance test. |
Set up the YouTube encoder carefully
YouTube Help recommends RTMPS: “We recommend streaming to YouTube Live with RTMPS, a secure extension to the popular RTMP streaming video protocol.” Its guidance lists RTMP/RTMPS; H.264, H.265 (HEVC) or AV1; up to 60 fps; AAC or MP3 audio; constant bitrate (CBR); and a recommended keyframe interval of 2 seconds, not more than 4 seconds. YouTube describes RTMPS as encrypted through Google’s servers. See the current YouTube live encoder settings.
For OBS, select the YouTube service and use the stream key from YouTube Studio’s live control room. Keep the key private: anyone with access to it may be able to send a stream to your channel. Follow the output resolution and bitrate that match your content and available upload capacity; do not assume a higher resolution is better if the source file or route cannot sustain it.

Test the complete path before relying on it
- Check the VPS limits. Confirm monthly transfer, outbound accounting, storage and the provider’s streaming terms.
- Prepare the source and workflow. Verify that OBS can access the recording and determine whether your setup merely relays/remuxes it or re-encodes it. Processing demand differs substantially; the listed CPU and memory do not by themselves establish suitability.
- Configure the YouTube output. Use RTMPS where available, CBR, a 2-second keyframe interval and an appropriate codec, audio format, frame rate and bitrate.
- Run a representative test. YouTube advises testing with audio and movement similar to the planned stream. Check OBS dropped frames and CPU use, then review YouTube stream health and any messages.
- Test recovery. Confirm how the process restarts after an OBS crash, VPS reboot or connection interruption. Do not assume that a 1 Gbps port guarantees a stable ingest route.
Copyright and YouTube channel considerations
A VPS does not grant rights to the video, music or other material being streamed. Before scheduling a recording or playlist, make sure you have the necessary rights or permissions for the content and its audio. YouTube’s enforcement and monetization decisions depend on its policies and the channel’s circumstances; repeating or looping material is not, by itself, proof that a channel complies. Review YouTube’s current rules and the rights attached to each file before broadcasting.

If your goal is to keep uploaded recordings or a playlist live on YouTube without administering a VPS, StreamNeo is a managed cloud option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops uploaded videos from the cloud; it does not stream a live camera feed.
