Its science-fiction premise sets up a relationship dilemma: Nora finds new opportunities in a world that recognizes her abilities, while her husband HĂ©ctor struggles to adapt. It is a character-focused time-travel story, not a film whose scientific mechanics are presented as a realistic account of physics.
What is Our Times about?
In 1966, physicists Nora and HĂ©ctor accidentally travel to 2025. They must adjust to a world transformed by technology and changing social norms while looking for a way home. The shift affects them differently: Nora flourishes in a society that gives women greater room to pursue their abilities, while HĂ©ctor has difficulty finding his footing.
That contrast turns the time-travel setup into a marital choice. Nora must weigh returning to the past with Héctor against the promising future now open to her. Netflix’s official logline describes the conflict as adapting to “a new world — and a new relationship dynamic” (Netflix Media Center).
Who stars in the film?
Netflix lists Lucero and Benny Ibarra in the cast, along with Renata Vaca, Ofelia Medina, and Claudia Lobo. Rotten Tomatoes credits Chava Cartas as director and Juan Carlos Garzón and Angélica Gudiño as screenwriters (Netflix; Rotten Tomatoes).

Where can you watch it, and how long is it?
Netflix lists Our Times for streaming. The Rotten Tomatoes listing gives a runtime of 1 hour 30 minutes and a June 11, 2025 streaming release date. Netflix’s listing identifies Spanish (Latin America) as the original audio and shows English audio and subtitles; available languages can vary by country, so check the title page in your own Netflix catalog.
What kind of movie is it?
Netflix categorizes the film as science fiction and tags it as Mexican, romantic comedy, comedy, and romance. The time jump provides the speculative hook, but the central conflict concerns a couple adjusting to social change and to Nora’s newly expanded prospects. The synopsis does not establish a technical explanation for the time travel, so viewers looking for hard-science detail should not assume that is the film’s focus.

The 90-minute runtime makes for a compact treatment of its premise. Whether that is a strength will depend on what you want from the film: its setup may appeal if you are interested in a relationship story shaped by social change, while viewers seeking extensive world-building or a detailed scientific puzzle may be looking for something else.

Rotten Tomatoes displayed a 47% Tomatometer from 9 reviews when accessed on October 3, 2026. That is a dated snapshot of a small review set, not a measure of audience response; the score and review count may change. The listed criticism is mixed: some reviews point to the bittersweet relationship dilemma or entertainment value, while others find the premise, writing, or handling of its themes underdeveloped.
