IRL Pro is an Android app for sending a live phone-camera feed to YouTube; OBS is a desktop production and encoding workflow. For a moving, live IRL stream, IRL Pro is the more direct fit. For scenes assembled on a PC, OBS is the relevant tool—but “low-cost PC” is not enough information to know whether it can encode continuously. If you mean a prerecorded video loop rather than a live camera, neither comparison is quite the right one: a cloud service can run that separate workflow without a dedicated PC.
First decide what “24/7” means
Live IRL camera
If you want a continuous live view from a phone camera while moving around, IRL Pro is designed for that mobile capture path. Its guide says it sends video over RTMP or SRT using one connection, without connection bonding. That does not make a mobile connection reliable everywhere: coverage and sustained upload still determine whether the stream holds up.
Desktop scenes or encoding
OBS is the desktop workflow when you need to compose scenes or encode a feed on a PC. A 24/7 OBS stream depends on the computer remaining powered, cool and stable as well as having enough encoding capacity. The official material available here does not establish minimum PC specifications or performance on a “low-cost PC.” You need the exact CPU, graphics encoder, memory, operating system, sources and target settings before judging a particular machine.
Prerecorded video loop
A loop of uploaded, prerecorded video is not a live IRL camera stream. YouTube Help lists a cloud-based 24/7 option for prerecorded video that does not require a dedicated PC. IRL Pro vs OBS: what the evidence supports

For IRL Pro’s own service plans, its guide lists these caps and suggested starting outputs: Stream Key Lite, 9,000 kbps and 1080p30; Stream Key, 9,000 kbps and 1080p30; OBS Basic, 6,000 kbps and 720p30; OBS Standard, 6,000 kbps and 1080p30; OBS Pro, 10,000 kbps and 1080p60. These are plan limits or guidance from Enhanced IRL Docs, not a promise about Indian mobile upload or YouTube requirements. A plan cap does not create usable bandwidth where the network cannot provide it.
Choose and test settings for YouTube
Use YouTube’s current encoder guidance as the starting point, then test against the connection and content you will actually stream. The bitrate recommendations below are from Google / YouTube Help; they are not measurements of Indian networks.

YouTube also specifies constant bitrate (CBR), supports up to 60 fps, recommends a 2-second keyframe interval (do not exceed 4 seconds), and accepts AAC or MP3 audio. It recommends RTMPS for secure ingest. These settings do not guarantee a stable stream: the sustained upload must have headroom above the encoder’s video bitrate, including room for audio and network variation.
For a moving phone stream
The IRL Pro guide recommends SRT over RTMP for single-SIM street-level use, and advises starting at half the plan cap, walking the usual route and raising the bitrate only if it remains stable. Treat that as vendor guidance, not an India-wide carrier test. Do not set the encoder to a plan’s maximum just because the plan lists it. Test at the places and times you expect to stream; movement can expose weak coverage that a stationary speed test misses.

For OBS on the PC
Before committing a low-cost PC to a continuous stream, identify its CPU and GPU or hardware encoder, memory, operating system, input sources, and intended resolution and frame rate. Run a sustained local upload test at the intended output rate and during the likely streaming time. During a private or unlisted test, check OBS’s encoding and network indicators and YouTube’s stream health. If frames are being lost because of encoding overload, reduce scene complexity or output resolution/frame rate, or use a capable hardware encoder if the PC has one. If the connection is dropping frames, lower bitrate or improve the connection; changing the encoder alone will not fix inadequate upload.
Connect the encoder to YouTube and protect the stream
- Enable live streaming in advance. YouTube says first-time live activation can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave setup until the day of the broadcast.
- Create the live stream in YouTube Studio. Copy the server URL and stream key shown for the stream into the matching encoder fields in OBS or IRL Pro. Keep the key private; anyone with it may be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Configure the encoder. Use the resolution, frame rate, codec, bitrate, CBR and keyframe settings appropriate to your upload and the YouTube recommendations above. Select RTMPS if the encoder offers YouTube’s secure ingest endpoint.
- Run a representative test. YouTube advises testing with audio and video movement similar to the real stream, then monitoring stream health. Check sound, motion, dropped frames and stability before sharing the live link widely.
- Plan for the archive separately. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume one uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast will be automatically archived; consult the current YouTube guidance and arrange a separate preservation plan if the recording matters.
For copyrighted footage, music or other material, make sure you have the necessary rights to broadcast it. A successful encoder connection does not establish permission to use material or guarantee that YouTube will leave a stream available. For a prerecorded loop, repeated playback is not a substitute for rights to the content; check the channel’s applicable YouTube rules before scheduling it.

What to verify in India before choosing
- For IRL Pro: test the actual route and carrier at the bitrate you intend to use. The cited guide does not provide Indian carrier upload measurements, data costs or coverage results.
- For OBS: check the exact PC hardware and run a sustained test with the intended scenes and settings. No minimum configuration for an inexpensive PC is established here.
- For either DIY setup: account for power and a reliable connection throughout the hours you intend to broadcast. No local PC, electricity or mobile data cost comparison is established.
- For the goal: decide whether the stream must be a live camera feed or can be a prerecorded loop; the appropriate equipment and operating method differ.
Common problems and practical fixes
The stream looks unstable while walking
Likely causes include weak or variable coverage and a bitrate set too high for the route. In IRL Pro, try the guide’s SRT recommendation for a single-SIM route, lower the starting bitrate, and test the full route before going live. A plan cap is not a carrier upload guarantee.
YouTube reports poor stream health or dropped frames
First distinguish a network problem from an encoder problem. Test sustained upload and reduce bitrate if the connection cannot maintain it. If OBS indicates encoding overload instead, reduce output resolution or frame rate, simplify scenes, or use an available hardware encoder. Retest with representative motion and audio.

The stream key will not connect
Check that the server URL and key were copied from the correct YouTube stream into the matching encoder fields, and that live streaming has been enabled on the channel. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours. Keep the key private and replace it in YouTube if it has been exposed.
A 24-hour broadcast is missing from the archive
YouTube’s stated automatic archive rule applies to streams under 12 hours. A single stream lasting 24 hours is outside that stated threshold; do not rely on automatic archiving for it. Consult YouTube’s current guidance and make a separate recording or preservation plan where needed.
