Use music you created and control, or music whose license explicitly covers the exact stream. Before running a continuous yoga relaxation stream, check permission for the platform, worldwide availability, monetization, looping, and any replay, archive, or clips. A track labeled “free,” a credit in the description, or a regular music-listening subscription is not enough by itself.
What “copyright-safe” means for a live stream
YouTube describes safe music as music in the public domain or music you have permission to use from the copyright owner. Its guidance also warns that calling a track “free” or crediting its creator does not prevent Content ID restrictions: YouTube’s copyright guidance.
For livestreams, permission must cover the broadcast and any saved version. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the creator to have the rights needed for live content and archived content, including applicable music licensing rights: YouTube Terms of Service. Rights may also be layered: permission to use a recording does not necessarily settle rights in its composition, samples, or collaborators’ contributions.
There is no single clearance route established for every platform, country, and replay format. Treat “safe” as a question about the specific rights and terms that apply to your use—not as a label that guarantees no automated claim or interruption.

Define the use before choosing tracks
Write down the details of the stream first. A license that works for a short, non-monetized live session may not cover an always-on broadcast, an archived replay, or a commercial channel.
- Platform: Identify every service where the stream will appear. Check permission separately for each one.
- Duration and looping: Confirm that continuous or repeated playback is allowed for the full duration you plan to stream.
- Monetization and promotion: Check whether ads, sponsorships, memberships, or other commercial use are permitted.
- Replay and reuse: Verify coverage for VODs, archives, highlights, clips, and viewer replay—not only the live broadcast.
- Territories: Check where the license applies and where the stream will be available. A license or public-music rule for one country is not automatically worldwide clearance.
- Account and attribution: Confirm the license covers your channel or account, and note any required attribution or other conditions.
Start with music you control or YouTube’s Audio Library
Use original music only when you control the relevant rights
Creating a track yourself is not enough if it includes samples, a co-writer’s work, a performer’s recording, or other material you are not authorized to use. Check that you control or have permission for both the composition and the recording, as well as any included material.

Check the terms for each Audio Library track
YouTube says tracks in its Audio Library are copyright-safe on YouTube. Attribution requirements vary: some Creative Commons tracks require credit, while standard library tracks can be filtered for no attribution. Read the individual track terms and save the applicable details when you select it. YouTube cautions that it cannot guarantee rights for music from other libraries or advise about off-platform use. See YouTube Audio Library guidance.
Do not use Creator Music as a live-stream license
YouTube’s current help pages say Creator Music does not support licensing for live content. Its licensed and revenue-share tracks are for long-form videos, not livestreams or Shorts. A track available there is therefore not, on that basis alone, cleared for a continuous live relaxation stream. See YouTube Creator Music guidance.

Evaluate an external music library’s license
Twitch lists services including Soundstripe, Monstercat Gold, Chillhop, and NCS as music options. That list is a starting point, not a blanket endorsement or confirmation that any particular plan covers your yoga stream. Review the current terms for the specific tracks and plan before using them.
- Does the license explicitly allow livestreaming and continuous looping?
- Does it cover your platform, channel or account, and the territories where viewers can access the stream?
- Does it allow monetization, sponsorships, or other commercial use if applicable?
- Does it cover VODs, archives, highlights, and clips?
- Are there duration limits, attribution requirements, or other track-specific restrictions?
- What records must you retain, and what process applies if an automated claim or notification appears?
Twitch warns that licenses may not cover the way music is used, and that performance-rights agreements may not cover global streaming on Twitch. It also says that buying music or subscribing to a music service generally does not itself authorize sharing that music on Twitch. See Twitch Music Guidelines and Twitch music options. These Twitch-specific resources do not establish permission for YouTube or another platform; check the license and platform terms relevant to your own broadcast.

Keep proof and respond carefully to claims
Keep a copy of the applicable license and record the track title, artist, date acquired, account or channel covered, permitted uses, and required attribution. If a claim or notification appears, compare it with the license scope and follow the platform’s dispute or support process. A missing Content ID claim does not prove you have permission; conversely, Twitch notes that some notifications can be inaccurate. Neither outcome replaces checking your rights.

Music rights and platform rules can vary by territory. U.S. law or UK guidance on public music use is not a worldwide license, and a platform’s terms do not by themselves establish every right required under local law. For a commercial stream available across territories, obtain a license whose text directly covers the intended use and consider jurisdiction-specific legal advice. YouTube’s livestream terms describe the creator’s responsibility for rights globally; UK government guidance on music licensing is available at GOV.UK: Licence to play live or recorded music.

Or let it run in the cloud
Once you have music permission for the stream, StreamNeo can keep a YouTube stream of uploaded videos running from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. Each slot streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price, and automatic recovery can restart the stream if YouTube drops it. The first day is free with no card. Monthly is $9.99 per month. This handles stream operation, not music licensing: use only tracks cleared for your intended live and replay use.
