What this kind of software does
A cloud 24/7 streaming service takes videos you have already recorded, arranges them in a playlist or queue, and sends them to YouTube as a live stream from the provider’s infrastructure. You can set up and edit the playlist in a browser, and the service—not your home computer—handles playback and the encoder connection.
This is different from a conventional live-production encoder. Encoders such as software or hardware devices connect to YouTube using the stream URL and stream key shown in YouTube’s live setup. They are suited to camera, screen, and multi-source production; a cloud playlist service is generally the closer fit when the content is prerecorded and the priority is continuous playback. YouTube’s verified-encoder directory includes both types, and YouTube cautions that listed products are not made by YouTube: YouTube Live Verified encoders.

Upstream says its studio lets users upload videos, choose in-order or shuffled playback, and publish a 24/7 stream that continues in the cloud while their computer is off. These are vendor claims, not independent measurements of reliability or output quality: Upstream.
- Streamloop — playlist editor and cloud broadcasting. Streamloop’s product page describes creating continuous live streams from prerecorded playlists, with a browser playlist editor for reordering and looping. It also describes cloud broadcasting without OBS or a computer left on; those claims have not been independently measured here: Streamloop.
- OneStream Live — consider if its Enterprise terms fit. Its help documentation, updated September 3, 2026, says users can create a 24-hour stream in the web app, add content from a device, its library, or cloud storage, choose a YouTube channel, and schedule the broadcast. The same vendor documentation says 24/7 streaming is exclusive to its Enterprise plan and capped at 30 days per stream. Only the OneStream Live documentation cited above establishes a plan requirement and maximum duration for its 24/7 feature. The cited material does not establish comparable prices, storage limits, video input limits, or tested stream recovery for Upstream or Streamloop. Do not treat feature-page claims as independent evidence of uptime or output quality.
How to choose
- Choose a cloud playlist service if your stream is built from prerecorded videos and you want playback to continue without leaving a computer running.
- Check playlist controls for ordering, shuffle, and looping behavior. Make sure the available playback mode matches the channel format you want.
- Check limits before building your schedule. Confirm plan eligibility, maximum stream duration, storage, supported input sources, and whether the service can recover automatically if YouTube disconnects it.
- Use a conventional encoder instead when the broadcast needs a live camera, screen capture, or a mix of live sources. YouTube’s encoder workflow uses the stream URL and key assigned in YouTube’s live setup.
Keep YouTube playlists separate from live streaming
YouTube Studio can create and manage channel playlists, including reordering videos by dragging them. That feature organizes videos on the channel; it is not a continuous live encoder or a way to make a channel playlist broadcast as a live stream.
