Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteFirst check whether your YouTube stream is stereo or 5.1 surround: YouTube recommends 44.1 kHz for stereo and 48 kHz for 5.1. If the warning says the primary and backup feeds use different rates, make those rates match. Tamil-language content is not an established cause of this warning; the right fix depends on the encoder, audio path and exact YouTube message.
1. Identify the exact YouTube warning
Read the message in YouTube’s stream health or configuration status before changing settings. YouTube documents an audio sample-rate configuration warning separately from a warning that the primary and backup feeds use different sample rates. Those are distinct problems and should be checked separately (LiveStreams API reference; Configuration Issues for LiveStream Resources).
- If YouTube reports an audio sample-rate issue, compare the rate being sent with the recommendation for your channel layout.
- If it reports a primary/backup mismatch, compare the two feeds and configure them to use the same rate.
2. Match the rate to the channel layout
YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends different sample rates for stereo and 5.1 surround sound. Neither rate is universally correct; use the recommendation for the format actually being sent.
| Outgoing audio format | YouTube-recommended sample rate |
|---|---|
| Stereo | 44.1 kHz |
| 5.1 surround | 48 kHz |
Check the encoder’s outgoing channel layout and sample rate, rather than relying only on the source file’s properties. YouTube’s live encoder settings guidance lists these channel-specific recommendations.

3. Check the encoder and audio devices
If you use OBS Studio
- Open Settings → Audio and inspect the sampling-rate setting.
- Check the selected audio devices in the same section. Confirm that the intended source is selected and that the stream’s channel layout matches what you mean to send.
- Apply the configuration, then make a short test stream or recording and check YouTube’s stream-health messages.
OBS identifies sampling rate as an audio setting and its setup guidance recommends selecting the intended audio devices and testing the setup (OBS Studio Overview Guide; Quick Start Guide). Menu names can vary by OBS version, so if a label differs, use the audio settings page and verify the selected rate there.
If you use another encoder
Find its audio output settings and check the emitted sample rate and channel layout. The specific controls depend on the encoder; without its name and version, there is no reliable universal menu path. Compare the output with the stereo or 5.1 recommendation above.

4. Align redundant feeds, then test
- If you have a backup feed, inspect its sample rate as well as the primary feed’s.
- Set both feeds to the same sample rate. A primary/backup discrepancy is specifically identified by YouTube as a configuration issue.
- Start a short test stream and review YouTube’s stream health. Confirm that the rate warning has cleared before relying on the changed configuration for a 24/7 broadcast.
A continuous schedule makes a brief, controlled test especially useful: it lets you verify the change without assuming that a settings adjustment worked just because it was saved.
5. If the warning remains
Do not replace an interface, encoder, cable or other hardware on the strength of this warning alone. The documented first steps are configuration checks; the specific encoder and signal chain are unknown.

- Record the encoder name and version, operating system, channel layout and sample rate it reports as output.
- Note the audio source device or software, the exact YouTube message and whether a backup feed is active.
- Repeat the check after confirming the encoder output, selected devices and—if applicable—matching primary and backup rates.
Why “Tamil 24/7” does not identify the cause
The available platform guidance concerns audio format, sample rate and feed configuration. It does not establish a link between Tamil-language content or a 24/7 schedule and a sample-rate warning. The channel’s language is not a reason to select a different rate; use the outgoing stereo or 5.1 format and the exact warning to guide the fix.
