You can encode with software on a computer or a dedicated hardware encoder. Either way, uninterrupted operation requires a plan for power, internet, monitoring and restarts; YouTube does not guarantee that a particular stream will stay online.
1. Check that your channel can go live
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions during the previous 90 days. If you are enabling live streaming for the first time, activation may take up to 24 hours, so check access well before your planned launch. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and setup guidance.
2. Choose how to encode the stream
An encoder takes your prepared audio and visuals and sends them to YouTube as a live feed. YouTube supports both software encoders running on a computer and standalone hardware encoders; a dedicated device is optional, not a platform requirement. YouTube’s encoder setup guide describes the workflow and continuous-stream-capable equipment, but does not recommend a specific device or guarantee uninterrupted uptime.

For either method, the encoder and its connection must continue sending data. A computer or device shutting down, losing power or internet access can interrupt the stream. Plan who or what will detect and address a failure; the platform setup documentation is not an uptime guarantee.

3. Prepare rights-cleared Vishnu mantra content
Use original or properly licensed mantra audio and visuals. Check rights for every element you include: the particular recording, background music, images, animation and devotional artwork. Permission to use a mantra or devotional subject does not automatically establish permission to stream a specific recording or image, or to keep an archived copy on YouTube. You are responsible for complying with YouTube policy and securing the necessary rights; without identifying the source recording and assets, their rights status cannot be determined.
4. Create the encoder stream in YouTube Studio
- In YouTube Studio, open the live control room and choose the encoder workflow to create or select a stream. YouTube’s labels may change; follow its current encoder instructions if the interface differs.
- Copy the stream server URL and stream key provided by YouTube into the matching fields in your software or hardware encoder.
- Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it or show it on screen. YouTube allows a custom key to be reused where appropriate, but use the key intended for this broadcast and keep it private.
- Start the encoder’s feed and check the live control room to confirm YouTube is receiving it. Monitor the stream after launch and have a way to restart the encoder or reconnect it if sending stops.
The connection workflow is documented by YouTube; it does not establish that a particular encoder configuration or restart design will remain online indefinitely.

5. Make a plan for continuity and replays
A 24/7 schedule is an operating goal, not a guarantee of uninterrupted viewing. Keep the encoder, power and internet connection under observation, and decide how you will detect an interruption and restart the feed. YouTube documents encoder setup, not the reliability of your computer, home connection or chosen hardware.
Archive and DVR limits
If a complete replay matters, keep a local recording as a backup. YouTube Help warns: “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” Its live archive guidance explains the archive risk. YouTube also notes that DVR lets viewers pause and rewind a live stream, but DVR capabilities may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours; see Turn on DVR on live streams. A continuous stream should therefore not be treated as a guaranteed complete YouTube replay.

6. Troubleshoot common interruptions
- Live streaming is not available: Check channel verification and whether there has been a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours.
- YouTube is not receiving the encoder feed: Confirm the encoder has the server URL and stream key from the correct YouTube stream, then check that the encoder is actually sending. Keep the key private while checking it.
- The stream stops unexpectedly: Check whether the computer or encoder lost power, shut down, overheated or lost internet access. Restore the failed connection or device and restart sending the feed; monitor the live control room to confirm reception.
- The replay is missing or incomplete: A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured as an archive. Keep a local recording if you need a complete copy.
- Viewers cannot rewind as expected: DVR capabilities may be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours.
- A copyright or policy issue arises: Recheck the permissions for the exact audio and visual assets and YouTube policy compliance. The fact that content is devotional does not by itself establish that its recording or artwork is cleared for streaming.
