Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsA timeout on a Hyderabad VPS does not by itself mean Hyderabad—or the provider’s network—is at fault. First identify whether FFmpeg lost its input, stopped running, failed to publish to YouTube, or ran into an outbound-capacity or network problem. Then check the exact output protocol and endpoint before changing timeout options: FFmpeg’s documented HTTP reconnect controls do not automatically apply to RTMP/RTMPS publishing.
Start by finding where the stream failed
“Disconnect” can describe several different events, and each points to a different fix. Establish what stopped before changing FFmpeg options or blaming the VPS route.
- Input failure: FFmpeg stops reading or loses access to the source file or input stream.
- Process failure: FFmpeg exits, crashes, or is restarted by a supervisor.
- Output or ingest failure: FFmpeg remains alive but cannot keep publishing to YouTube.
- Capacity or network interruption: the configured stream cannot be sustained, or the connection is interrupted somewhere along the VPS-to-YouTube path.
Capture the complete command with the stream key redacted, ffmpeg -version output, full logs from before and after the event, the UTC timestamp, process exit status, and whether the process stayed alive. Record the last input read and last successful output write, and note whether a supervisor restarted FFmpeg. Identify whether the error refers to the input URL or the output URL; do not publish a stream key in logs or support requests.
Check whether the timeout option applies to the connection
FFmpeg options are protocol-specific. The official FFmpeg Protocols Documentation documents reconnect, reconnect_on_network_error, and related controls in its HTTP protocol section. That is not evidence those options recover an RTMP or RTMPS output publish. Match the failing URL’s protocol to the protocol documentation for the installed FFmpeg release, and consult the release-matched build rather than assuming current upstream behavior. The upstream HTTP protocol option declarations are on the moving master branch, so they may not describe an older installed build.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
A timeout can limit how long an operation waits. It cannot repair a wrong endpoint, restore a dropped route, or establish that an output protocol supports automatic reconnection. Without the command, affected protocol, and logs, there is no sound basis for prescribing a particular timeout value.
Validate YouTube’s ingest endpoint and transport
If the output uses RTMPS, verify every URL component: the rtmps scheme, correct ingest endpoint and application path, TLS over port 443, and the expected hostname for SNI. A command that uses cleartext RTMP against an RTMPS endpoint may time out without a useful response. Google’s RTMPS ingestion guide says: “Make sure that you’re creating an SSL connection, not a plain TCP connection.”

When a connection appears to reach a host but then times out or reports an SSL problem, check the actual scheme and port in the output URL—not just the hostname. Confirm that TLS and SNI use the intended endpoint.
Compare stream bitrate with sustained VPS upload capacity
Measure sustained outbound capacity from the VPS under representative conditions, then compare it with the configured video bitrate, audio bitrate, and connection overhead. A short speed test or successful ping does not demonstrate that the VPS can sustain a live publish. Review YouTube Live Control Room’s stream-health messages and encoder warnings at the disconnect time.

YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance recommends 14 Mbps for H.264 at 1080p/30 fps. That is a recommended encoder setting, not evidence that a stream disconnect was caused by the network. YouTube also advises choosing a quality that the internet connection can sustain and testing before the stream. Test with movement and audio similar to the planned broadcast, then monitor stream health during the event.
Collect evidence before attributing the problem to the provider
Hyderabad describes the VPS’s advertised location; it does not identify the cause of a disconnect. The evidence needed to assess a VPS or route fault includes repeated, timestamped symptoms and network observations from the relevant period.

- Record DNS resolution, connection-establishment results, and TLS outcomes for the intended ingest endpoint.
- Measure latency and packet loss over the periods when failures occur.
- Check firewall and security-group rules, and collect any relevant provider status notices or support findings.
- Where practical, compare results from the same VPS with a separate host or route.
A successful ping alone cannot verify a sustained RTMPS publish. Without provider, route, packet-loss, firewall, or incident evidence, a Hyderabad-specific fault cannot be diagnosed.

| Evidence or symptom | What to check next |
|---|---|
| FFmpeg exits or a supervisor restarts it | Inspect the complete logs, exit status, input-read history, and supervisor record. Treat this as a process or input investigation until output failure is established. |
| Error names the input URL or input reads stop | Check the input source and its protocol; an output reconnect option will not fix an input-side stall. |
| Error names the output URL or publishing stops while FFmpeg remains alive | Verify the YouTube endpoint, scheme, path, port, TLS, and SNI; then compare the event with YouTube stream-health messages. |
| Output is unstable and configured bitrate approaches or exceeds sustained egress | Choose a bitrate and quality the measured connection can sustain, accounting for audio and overhead, and test again under representative conditions. |
| Repeated connection or TLS failures coincide with network symptoms | Preserve timestamps and connection, TLS, latency, packet-loss, firewall, and provider evidence before asking the provider to investigate. |
