You can run recorded accounting lessons as a continuous YouTube live stream by enabling live streaming on your channel, connecting an encoder to YouTube Live Control Room, and feeding it a playlist of lessons. For a do-it-yourself setup, the computer, power and internet connection running the encoder must remain available; a cloud service can instead handle playback. Test the stream before publishing, plan for interruptions, and do not assume a 24-hour stream will be archived as one video or run without a break.
Before you start: check channel eligibility
You need a verified YouTube channel with no live-streaming restriction during the preceding 90 days. If you are enabling live streaming for the first time, YouTube says activation may take up to 24 hours. Check the channel and enable the feature in YouTube Studio before planning a launch: YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.
- Have the recorded lessons and permission to use every video, slide, screen capture, music track and other asset in them.
- Choose an encoder that can play your lesson files in sequence or loop a playlist. Confirm its current looping and reconnection behavior before relying on it for continuous operation.
- Use a computer-based encoder only if you can keep the computer, power and internet connection available for the stream.
Set up the stream with an encoder
- Enable live streaming. In YouTube Studio, complete the channel verification and live-stream setup. Allow time for first-time activation, which may take up to 24 hours.
- Create the broadcast. Open YouTube Live Control Room and create or schedule a live stream. Select the intended visibility and enter a clear title and description for the accounting lessons.
- Copy the connection details. In Live Control Room, copy YouTube’s server URL and stream key into the matching fields in your encoder. Treat the stream key like a password: anyone with it may be able to broadcast to your channel. Do not publish it or show it in a screen recording.
- Build the playback sequence. Add the recorded lessons to the encoder in the order you want viewers to see them. Set its playback or playlist behavior to repeat if you want the sequence to cycle. Exact controls vary by encoder; check the encoder’s own instructions and confirm the behavior during a test.
- Check video and audio settings. Use an output resolution and bitrate that your encoder and upload connection can sustain. YouTube’s guidance emphasizes sufficient upload capacity and recommends 20% bandwidth headroom beyond the stream bitrate. Keep an eye on both audio and video quality; a stream that appears live can still have silent or degraded playback. See YouTube Help: Streaming tips.
- Start with a test. Before a public launch, test privately or as an unlisted stream. Check the encoder preview and the YouTube watch page, listen for clear audio, verify the lesson order and looping, and confirm that the stream remains stable.
- Publish and monitor. Start the encoder and confirm that YouTube receives a healthy signal before making the stream public. Monitor the broadcast and have a plan for encoder, power or internet failure. YouTube recommends testing failover for event encoders, but its guidance does not provide a complete reliability design for an always-on stream.
Plan for India’s upload connection and interruptions
There is no single upload-speed figure that makes every Indian connection suitable: capacity and stability vary by location, provider, time of day and network type. Measure upload performance where the encoder will actually run, at times representative of the planned broadcast. Compare the available upload capacity with the encoder’s total stream bitrate and preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom. If the connection fluctuates, lower the stream bitrate or improve the connection rather than running at the edge of capacity.
A do-it-yourself stream depends on the local setup. A power cut, router failure, ISP outage, computer sleep, encoder crash or accidental shutdown can stop it. Disable sleep and automatic shutdown where appropriate, keep the computer and network equipment powered, and decide who will notice and restart the stream if something fails. Test recovery before relying on it.

What happens to a 24-hour stream and its archive?
YouTube’s encoder instructions say streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish that a stream lasting 12 hours or more will be archived as one video, nor does it promise an uninterrupted or indefinite broadcast. Check YouTube’s current behavior and your encoder’s current handling of restarts before launch. If preserving the lessons matters, keep the original recordings and make a separate archive plan rather than relying on the live stream’s archive.

Use lessons you have rights to stream
YouTube’s live-stream terms place responsibility on the creator to have the necessary rights for the live content worldwide, including applicable music licensing rights, and to comply with applicable laws and regulations. For an accounting channel, that means checking not only lesson footage but also presentation materials, screen captures, music, images and any other material included in the recordings. Do not assume a continuous stream will earn money
Monetization depends on channel and feature eligibility. YouTube says eligible monetized live streams may earn through ads, Super Chat and Super Stickers, and channel memberships, but ad slots are not guaranteed. YouTube’s channel monetization policies apply to live streams. Its July 15, 2025 policy clarification describes repetitive or mass-produced material as “inauthentic content” and says it is ineligible for monetization under the existing policy. A looped library should therefore offer meaningful, original value to viewers; do not assume that simply replaying recordings qualifies. Review YouTube channel monetization policies.

Troubleshoot common problems
- You cannot start a live stream: check channel verification, live-stream activation and whether the channel has a restriction within YouTube’s 90-day eligibility lookback. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
- YouTube is not receiving the encoder signal: confirm that the encoder has the correct server URL and current stream key from Live Control Room. If needed, refresh or regenerate the key in YouTube and update the encoder. Keep the key private.
- The stream buffers or drops: measure upload capacity at the production location, reduce the total bitrate if needed, and leave the recommended 20% headroom. Check Wi-Fi, router, ISP and local power for instability.
- The picture works but audio is missing or poor: check the encoder’s selected audio source and the source file’s audio track, then verify sound on the YouTube watch page during a test. An external microphone can improve newly recorded lessons, but YouTube says expensive equipment is not required.
- Lessons do not repeat as expected: inspect the encoder’s playlist order and repeat setting, then run a test long enough to observe the transition from the last lesson back to the first. Loop controls differ by encoder.
- The computer stream stops after a while: check for sleep, automatic shutdown, software updates, encoder errors, power interruptions and network loss. Test a restart or failover procedure; do not assume reconnection is automatic unless the encoder’s current documentation confirms it.
- You cannot find a full-day archive: YouTube’s stated automatic-archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours. It does not promise a single archive for a longer broadcast; retain the source files and check current platform behavior.
