To schedule multiple 24/7 YouTube channels, set up a separate playout for each channel and connect each one to that channel’s YouTube destination. A cloud playout service can keep prerecorded programming running without a computer playing files at home. Before choosing a provider, confirm that your account and plan support the number of simultaneous independent outputs you need; the cited provider materials do not establish a universal account concurrency limit.
First, distinguish a scheduled live event from a 24/7 channel
YouTube’s Live Control Room lets you schedule an event and connect an encoder feed: the operator starts sending the feed, checks the preview, and clicks Go live. That is not the same as configuring an automated, repeating cloud playlist. YouTube’s documented encoder workflow does not describe continuous playlist-based playout across multiple channels. YouTube’s encoder instructions cover the event-and-encoder workflow; a cloud playout service instead schedules media into a stream destination.
For multiple channels, think in terms of separate outputs, not one playlist presumed to serve every channel. For each output, identify its YouTube channel, content, order, start time, recurrence, and destination credentials. Provider documentation supports connecting destinations, but does not establish that one account can run any particular number of independent 24/7 playouts at once.
Choose the workflow that matches your programming

These are different operating models, not interchangeable promises of unlimited channels. Compare independent concurrent playout count, destination limits, loop behavior and duration, media storage, playlist length, live-source insertion, output resolution and frame rate, time-zone handling, monitoring, alerts, failover, and whether schedules can be changed while live. Verify current plan details directly with the provider before committing.

Plan each YouTube channel before configuring it
- Make a channel-by-channel schedule. Record the intended YouTube channel and account, video sequence, start time and time zone, recurrence or end date, title, visibility, and thumbnail for each output.
- Separate the destination credentials. Associate each stream destination or stream key with the correct channel. Avoid assuming that a connected account or destination is the one you intended; check it during setup and testing.
- Decide whether the lineup repeats. For a finite schedule, specify the final item and end time. For a recurring channel, establish how the loop is renewed or replaced before it expires.
- Check capacity before building every schedule. Ask the provider to confirm the number of independent simultaneous outputs allowed on your account and plan. Destination counts or examples in marketing materials do not establish account concurrency.
Set up a cloud playout in Castr
Castr’s documented TV Playout workflow is a concrete example of cloud scheduling. Labels and plan limits can change, so use the provider’s current interface and confirm the selected plan supports the required outputs.
- Create a Livestream first. TV Playout depends on an existing livestream destination.
- Create a TV Playout. Choose Schedule for consecutive scheduled items or Loop for repeating content.
- Set the output frame rate and resolution. Castr states that these initial output settings cannot be changed after creation, so decide them before proceeding.
- Upload the media and build the timetable. Add the intended files in the required sequence. For Loop mode, set an end date; the maximum loop duration depends on plan.
- Select the destination and start time. Confirm that the selected destination is the YouTube channel assigned to this playout, then check the scheduled start time and time zone.
- Apply the schedule and test it. Verify that the expected media appears at the destination and that video, audio, visibility, and stream health are correct.

Connect and verify each YouTube destination
In Castr, add YouTube as a destination using account linking or the platform’s server and key details. In YouTube’s native encoder workflow, schedule the event in Live Control Room, enter the stream URL and key in the encoder, start the feed, inspect the preview, and select Go live. Keep the distinction clear: the latter relies on an encoder-originated feed, while cloud playout sends scheduled media to a destination.
- Check the channel name and destination before applying a schedule.
- Verify title, thumbnail, visibility, start time, and time zone in the event or destination settings.
- Check privacy rather than assuming the stream is public; YouTube’s privacy default can differ by age group.
- Watch the preview and confirm audio and video before treating a scheduled event post as proof that continuous playback is working.

Test resilience and ongoing operations
Test each channel separately before relying on unattended operation. Castr documents stream monitoring, alerts, and encoder-level or backup-file failover options; confirm which are included in your plan and deliberately test the recovery path. For a loop with a required end date, assign someone to extend or replace it before expiry.
