You can run a Hindi devotional music stream from a Mac mini by sending a playlist through an encoder such as OBS to YouTube Live Control Room. The Mac mini and internet connection must remain available while the encoder is broadcasting, and the music must be cleared for livestream use. One important limit: YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; its guidance does not establish that one continuous 24/7 session will be archived as a single video.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
- A Mac mini compatible with the version of macOS supported by your chosen encoder. OBS offers downloads for Intel and Apple silicon Macs; its download page lists macOS 13.0 or newer. Check the current OBS download page and your Mac’s compatibility before installing, since software and hardware lineups change.
- OBS Studio or another encoder listed in YouTube’s encoder directory. OBS is free and open source.
- A playlist of audio and any accompanying visual material that you have the rights to livestream.
- A stable internet connection and access to YouTube Studio. The cited setup documentation does not establish a specific Mac mini configuration, bitrate, or required upload speed for this particular stream.

Set up the YouTube stream and OBS
- Enable live streaming. In YouTube Studio, complete the channel’s live-stream activation process. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation, as YouTube notes.
- Install OBS. Download the macOS build that matches your Mac mini’s processor, Intel or Apple silicon. Confirm the current compatibility requirements on the download page before installing.
- Create or schedule a stream. In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live to create a stream, or open the Manage tab to schedule one. A scheduled stream can be promoted, and viewers may be able to set reminders.
- Copy the stream details. In YouTube Live Control Room, copy the server URL and stream key into the corresponding fields in OBS. Treat the key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your stream. Do not share it publicly.
- Prepare the playlist and audio. Add the music and any visuals you are authorized to broadcast to your OBS scene or media playback setup. Check that playback continues through the end of the playlist and that the audio is audible at a consistent level.
- Start sending the stream. Start streaming in OBS. Check that the incoming preview appears in Live Control Room and that YouTube reports a healthy stream status. If the YouTube workflow asks you to confirm the event separately, select Go live there.
- Monitor the broadcast. Keep the Mac mini and network equipment running, and check OBS and YouTube Live Control Room for interruptions or status changes. Test the full workflow before promoting a long broadcast.
Plan around YouTube’s 12-hour archive guidance
YouTube states that “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” That is not a promise that a stream running continuously for 24 hours or longer will be saved as one complete archive. Treat a 24/7 channel schedule and the archive of an individual live event as separate questions. The cited guidance does not establish a safe restart workaround or a particular automated strategy for splitting a continuous broadcast into events.
If retaining an archive matters, consult YouTube’s current live-stream guidance and plan the event schedule accordingly. Do not assume that an uninterrupted multi-day session will produce a complete replay.

Clear the music rights before broadcasting
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects copyrighted material, a placeholder may replace the stream; if the material remains, the broadcast may be interrupted or terminated. Devotional or religious subject matter does not by itself make a recording copyright-free.
- Use recordings and compositions that you own or have permission to livestream. Keep records of the permissions and license terms.
- For licensed third-party music, ask the rights holder whether your channel needs to be added to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube says a license alone may not prevent an interruption if the channel is not allowlisted.
- Check rights for both the underlying composition and the specific recording. They can belong to different parties, so permission for one does not necessarily cover the other.
- If you choose to archive a live stream, YouTube says Content ID claims on archived live streams are made after the stream ends.

Keep a Mac mini broadcast operationally resilient
A Mac mini and encoder form a computer-based broadcast setup, but the available documentation does not prove that a particular model, scene, or playlist will run unattended indefinitely. Treat continuous operation as something to test and supervise, not as a guaranteed outcome.
- Run a supervised trial before announcing the stream. Confirm that audio and visuals play as intended and that YouTube receives the feed.
- Check OBS and Live Control Room periodically for stream status. The setup guidance does not establish a universal automatic-restart or reconnect procedure for this workflow.
- A UPS is an optional way to help protect the Mac mini and network equipment during brief power interruptions. It will not fix an internet outage, software crash, YouTube session limit, or music-rights problem.
- External storage is optional if you want to keep a local media library or recordings. It is not required by YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.
