You can schedule a recorded lesson to play as a YouTube live event from India by connecting your channel to OneStream Live, selecting or uploading the video, choosing YouTube, entering the broadcast details, and setting a start time. The lesson is prerecorded: it will not make you present to answer students’ questions unless you arrange separate live moderation or discussion.
Before scheduling: check YouTube live eligibility
For the described cloud scheduling workflow, YouTube’s general live-stream guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube may take up to 24 hours to enable a channel’s first live stream, so check eligibility well before a class. The official material cited here does not establish a separate India-specific rule for this cloud workflow.
The 50-subscriber threshold applies to YouTube’s mobile live-stream path, not as a universal requirement for a scheduled OneStream Live broadcast. For channels under 1,000 subscribers, YouTube says mobile streams may have viewer limits and their archives may default to private. If you plan to stream directly from a phone instead, check YouTube’s current mobile live-stream requirements.
See YouTube’s current computer live-streaming tips and streaming tips before the event; platform rules and availability can change.

Schedule the lesson in OneStream Live
- Connect your channel. In OneStream Live, open Social Platforms, select YouTube, and complete the authorization flow for the intended account and channel. Confirm the channel appears as connected. OneStream documents this connection and scheduling flow in its YouTube setup guide.
- Add the recording. Start a pre-recorded stream and select a lesson from your device, OneStream storage, or an available cloud-storage source. Keep the original video file as a backup.
- Choose the destination. Select the uploaded lesson, continue to destinations, and choose the connected YouTube channel.
- Enter the event details. Add a clear title and description, then review the available settings, especially the audience classification. Mark the lesson as made for kids only if that accurately describes its intended audience.
- Set the date and time. Choose an immediate start or schedule the event. For an India-based class, include the time zone explicitly in announcements so students elsewhere can convert the start time correctly. OneStream’s product page says pre-recorded streams can be scheduled up to 60 days ahead; plan availability may change, so confirm current terms in OneStream’s pre-recorded streaming information.
- Check the event before class. Review the YouTube event page, visibility, playback, and any chat or moderation arrangements. Share the event link with students and explain whether they should attend at the scheduled time or watch a replay later.
OneStream also describes playlists, repeat scheduling, and continuous streaming. Its help page says advanced scheduling options are supported on Standard and higher plans; check the current plan terms before relying on a particular feature. Its separate 24/7 continuous-stream option is YouTube-only, requires Enterprise according to OneStream, and may run for a maximum of 30 days. That is a different use case from scheduling an individual lesson or class playlist. See advanced scheduling options and OneStream’s 24/7 streaming guide for current details.
Prepare students for a prerecorded event
A scheduled recording can make a polished lesson available to a cohort at a consistent time, but playback itself is not a live teaching session. Tell learners whether questions will be answered during the event, who will monitor chat if it is open, and how they can ask follow-up questions. For a course sequence, decide whether a playlist broadcast or separately promoted class events better fit how students need to attend.

OneStream documents a YouTube-only made-for-kids setting among advanced scheduling options. YouTube’s audience classification affects available features, including chat and ads, so choose the accurate setting rather than selecting one to enable interaction or monetization. OneStream also describes a YouTube DVR option that lets viewers pause and rewind during the stream; availability can depend on the configuration.
Protect the replay and archive
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. This is not a guarantee that an archive will remain public, because privacy settings and channel circumstances also matter. If students need a replay, keep the lesson under that limit, verify that OneStream’s post-stream deletion option is not enabled, retain the source file, and check the archive after the event. See YouTube’s archive guidance.

Check rights and platform rules
Before broadcasting, make sure you have the necessary rights for worldwide use of all material in the lesson, including music, images, and video clips. YouTube’s livestream terms also require compliance with Community Guidelines and applicable laws, and place relevant territory licensing, registration, and similar obligations on the content provider. Read the current livestream terms and conditions; this is a practical rights check, not legal advice.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Internet, equipment, and monitoring
With this uploaded-video workflow, you do not need to keep a live camera, encoder, or home computer running during the broadcast. You do need internet access to upload the lesson, configure the event, and check it. YouTube’s general streaming tips recommend leaving 20% headroom above the stream bitrate for available upload bandwidth; that is general guidance, not a tested requirement for OneStream’s cloud upload workflow. A short playback and event-page check before students arrive can catch an incorrect file, visibility setting, or schedule.

Troubleshooting before the lesson
- YouTube is unavailable as a destination: confirm the intended channel completed authorization and appears connected in OneStream’s Social Platforms. If this is the channel’s first live stream, allow for YouTube’s possible activation delay of up to 24 hours.
- You cannot schedule far enough ahead or find an advanced option: OneStream says advanced scheduling features depend on plan, with Standard and higher listed for those options. Verify the current plan and feature terms rather than assuming every account includes them.
- Students cannot see the event: inspect the YouTube event page and visibility setting, then confirm the shared link and scheduled time zone. Do not assume a mobile-stream subscriber rule applies to this cloud workflow.
- The replay is missing: check whether the event exceeded 12 hours, whether the post-stream deletion option was enabled, and whether the archive’s privacy setting permits students to view it. Preserve the original file and verify YouTube’s archive after the stream.
- Students expect live answers: clarify that the lesson is prerecorded and arrange a moderator or separate question channel if interaction is part of the class plan.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is a YouTube channel that keeps looping uploaded videos around the clock, rather than a one-time scheduled class event, StreamNeo is an alternative built for that use: upload a recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It runs from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home; the video streams as uploaded at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and it can recover automatically if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. UPI and cards are supported in India; card checkout is available worldwide. Start the free trial at StreamNeo.
