Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →If your Gyre broadcast is already live, a power cut at home should not stop the stream: Gyre says it runs the broadcast from its cloud infrastructure, so your computer and home internet connection do not need to stay on. A router UPS is only for keeping local access to your network, dashboard, or YouTube Studio; it is not what keeps the Gyre broadcast live.
What to do before and during a power cut
- Before the outage, launch or schedule the stream in Gyre. Upload your video files, assemble a playlist, connect your YouTube channel, then start or schedule the broadcast. Confirm that YouTube shows it as live before relying on the remote stream. Gyre describes this cloud workflow.
- After the broadcast is live, you can switch off your local computer. Gyre says the stream continues from its cloud even if your laptop is off, your browser is closed, or your internet connection drops. You do not need a powered encoder laptop or desktop for that Gyre-hosted broadcast.
- If you need to monitor or control it from home, keep the required local network equipment powered. Depending on your setup, that may include the router, modem or optical network terminal (ONT), and a separate Power over Ethernet (PoE) injector. A router UPS helps only with equipment it can actually power.
- Check your ISP’s local outage behavior. Keeping your router powered cannot guarantee that your provider’s neighborhood equipment or upstream service remains available. Internet availability during a power cut depends on your provider and location.
Gyre’s cloud-continuity statement is a vendor claim, not an independently verified uptime guarantee. It means a loss of power or internet at your home does not itself require the cloud broadcast to stop; it does not establish that Gyre or YouTube can never experience an interruption.
Cloud stream or local encoder: what needs power?
| Approach | What must stay powered at home? | What it can protect against | Limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gyre cloud-hosted broadcast | No local computer or encoder after launch. Router power is needed only for local monitoring or control. | A home power loss affecting your computer or local network does not itself stop the cloud broadcast, according to Gyre. | It still depends on Gyre and YouTube services; no independent Gyre uptime SLA was established. |
| Local encoder / RTMP broadcast | The encoder and every required local network device. | A suitably sized UPS or inverter can keep the source and network powered during a cut. | Runtime must be sufficient, and local internet service can fail separately from local power. |
If you use a local encoder instead
A non-Gyre stream being encoded and sent from your home is different: the encoder and network path must remain powered and connected. YouTube recommends setting up backup-encoder failover in advance and testing it by stopping the primary encoder or unplugging its Ethernet cable, then checking that the player switches to the backup. This redundancy advice applies to a local encoder workflow; it is not a requirement to keep a home backup encoder running for a broadcast already sent from Gyre’s cloud. See YouTube’s live-streaming encoder guidance.
Do you need a router UPS?
Not to keep an already launched Gyre cloud stream running. Consider one only if you also want your home router and compatible network equipment to remain powered so you can use the dashboard, YouTube Studio, or other local services during the cut.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Before buying, check the voltage, current, connector, and polarity required by each device. Determine whether your setup also needs power for an ONT, modem, or PoE injector; a UPS that powers only the router will not keep the whole connection working if another required device turns off. Confirm that the ISP service itself remains available during local outages.
For example, Zebronics lists the EnergiUPS 4K (ZEB-RUPS 2) for routers, CCTV cameras, modems, and set-top boxes, with 12V output up to 3A and up to four hours of backup. Those are manufacturer specifications and a runtime claim, not independently tested results; actual runtime depends on the connected load. Check the manufacturer’s product details and confirm compatibility with your own equipment.

Gyre file and YouTube readiness checks
Upload requirements and format guidance
Gyre’s workflow uses prerecorded video files uploaded to its storage, which you arrange into a playlist. Its support guidance for HD and Full HD lists 1280Ă—720 or 1920Ă—1080 resolution, H.264 video, 3072–6144 kbps video bitrate, 128 kbps audio bitrate, and 30 fps. That support page was marked as updated about a year ago, so confirm the current requirements with Gyre before preparing or re-encoding a large video library. Gyre’s knowledge base and articles.
YouTube eligibility
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days to live stream. Check the channel’s eligibility before scheduling a broadcast. YouTube’s live-streaming help.

Channel connection and multiple streams
Gyre’s September 2026 article describes authorizing a YouTube channel through the YouTube API, with manual stream-key setup for advanced configurations. It also says monetization on API-created streams depends on enabling the relevant third-party monetization default in YouTube Studio. The same article reports limits of 10 active streams per channel and three per stream key; these operational limits can change, so verify current YouTube documentation before planning multiple simultaneous broadcasts. Read Gyre’s current setup guidance.
Troubleshooting a stream during an outage
- You cannot open Gyre or YouTube Studio: Your local router, modem/ONT, PoE injector, or ISP connection may be unavailable. This loss of local access is not proof that the cloud broadcast stopped; check the live player from another connection when possible.
- The broadcast was not live before the power cut: A scheduled or prepared stream should not be assumed to be broadcasting until you have confirmed it is live on YouTube. Launch or schedule it through Gyre while you still have access.
- Your router UPS is on but Wi-Fi or internet is down: Check whether all required devices, including the modem/ONT and any PoE equipment, have power. Even if they do, the ISP’s upstream service may be affected.
- A local-encoder stream stops: Restore power and connectivity to the encoder and required network devices. If using a backup encoder, test that YouTube’s player switches over as intended rather than assuming failover works.
- A newly prepared file is rejected or plays poorly: Check it against Gyre’s current upload guidance and confirm supported settings with Gyre; published format recommendations can change.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is another YouTube-only option for keeping uploaded videos live 24/7: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The broadcast loops from the cloud, so nothing has to stay powered at home. It streams your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot regardless of quality; if YouTube drops the stream, StreamNeo automatically recovers. The first day is free with no card. Monthly service is $9.99 per month.
