Its support information describes an audio output and integration with third-party live playout software. That distinction matters: an Airtime Pro playlist is a schedule of audio media for a radio show; a YouTube Live broadcast needs a video encoder that sends a stream to YouTube. You can use both in a production, but the sources do not document a direct Airtime Pro video-to-YouTube handoff.
How to schedule an audio playlist in Airtime Pro
If your documentary channel also runs an internet-radio simulcast or audio schedule, Airtime Pro’s documented playlist workflow can handle that part. Set the station timezone before scheduling. Individual users can set an interface timezone in their profiles, so the displayed times can reflect their local time while the station retains its configured timezone.

- Set the station timezone. Open Settings and configure the station timezone before adding calendar events. Check your profile timezone as well if you work in a different local timezone.
- Upload audio. Use the Upload area to add media to the library. Airtime Pro lists MP3, Ogg, WAV, FLAC, and AAC as supported audio formats on its features page.
- Create a show in Calendar. Choose a date, name the show, set its time, and add it. Airtime Pro also documents repeating calendar events and linking shows.
- Build and save a playlist. Choose Playlist in the dashboard, name the playlist, drag audio from the library into it, and save. Saved playlists can be reused or modified later.
- Add the playlist to the scheduled show. Open the show in Calendar, choose Add/Remove Content, locate the saved playlist in the library, then drag it into the show’s scheduled content.
This schedules audio for Airtime Pro shows. It does not configure a YouTube video stream.
Send prerecorded video to YouTube Live with an encoder
YouTube defines an encoder as software or hardware that converts video into a digital format for streaming. The encoder—not Airtime Pro’s documented radio playlist workflow—must provide the video feed to YouTube. YouTube’s instructions are in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.

- Enable live streaming if needed. Follow YouTube’s account setup and eligibility prompts. YouTube Help says first-time live-stream enablement may take up to 24 hours; check the current instructions because platform requirements can change.
- Create or schedule a live stream in YouTube Studio. Open the Live Control Room and create the broadcast you intend to use. YouTube provides a stream URL and stream key for the encoder connection.
- Choose and configure an encoder. Select software or hardware that supports the prerecorded-video playback and continuous operation you need. Enter the YouTube stream URL and stream key in the encoder’s streaming settings. Keep the stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to send video to your broadcast.
- Load the video playback source. Configure the encoder or playout system to play the video material you want to broadcast. Confirm that it can sustain the intended schedule and reconnect if the connection or stream is interrupted; the documented Airtime Pro steps do not do this for video.
- Start the encoder and check the preview. Confirm that the incoming picture and audio appear in YouTube’s Live Control Room before making the broadcast public or starting the scheduled event.
- Start the YouTube broadcast when ready. Use the Live Control Room to go live. Monitor the encoder and YouTube status during operation, especially when testing a long-running schedule.
YouTube’s encoder page names software encoders and hardware such as the AJA HELO Plus. It also describes the HELO Plus’s optional PlayToStream functionality for scheduling prerecorded media and streaming it directly to YouTube Live without a computer. That is a separate hardware path, not an Airtime Pro integration, and it is optional rather than a required purchase.

For a do-it-yourself encoder setup, verify that it supports the intended video source, can run for the required duration, and has a recovery plan for dropped connections. Choose hardware or software based on the playback controls and operator attention your schedule requires, not on the assumption that Airtime Pro’s audio scheduling also controls video.

Before streaming a documentary playlist, confirm that you have the rights needed for each video and its audio on YouTube. A continuous stream does not change the rights status of its contents. Also consider whether the channel’s presentation and programming provide meaningful value rather than simply replaying material without context.
