For a typical prerecorded 1080p30 Hindi news replay, start with H.264 at 10 Mbps CBR, progressive 1920Ă—1080 video, a two-second keyframe interval, Rec. 709 SDR at 8-bit, and stereo AAC at 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz. Use the frame-rate recommendation that matches your source: YouTube recommends 10 Mbps for 1080p30 H.264 and 12 Mbps for 1080p60 H.264. Hindi does not require a special encoding profile or bitrate.
Recommended settings for a 1080p replay
These are YouTube’s encoder recommendations for live ingest, not guarantees of stream quality. The correct bitrate depends on both codec and frame rate.
| Setting | Starting choice | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Ingest protocol | RTMPS | YouTube recommends RTMPS for encoder delivery. |
| Video codec | H.264 with FFmpeg’s libx264 |
Use the H.264 bitrate row below; YouTube also lists H.265 and AV1 with separate recommendations. |
| Resolution and scan | 1920×1080 progressive | Keep the source’s actual frame rate where practical. |
| H.264 bitrate at 1080p30 | 10 Mbps recommended; 5 Mbps minimum | YouTube’s live encoder guidance. |
| H.264 bitrate at 1080p60 | 12 Mbps recommended; 6 Mbps minimum | YouTube’s live encoder guidance. |
| Rate control | CBR | YouTube lists constant bitrate for live encoding. |
| Keyframes | Every 2 seconds | YouTube recommends 2 seconds and says not to exceed 4 seconds. |
| Pixel and color settings | Square pixels; Rec. 709 SDR, 8-bit | YouTube’s recommended advanced settings for SDR. |
| Audio | AAC stereo, 128 kbps, 44.1 kHz | YouTube permits AAC or MP3 for RTMP/RTMPS; its stereo guidance lists 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz. |
For 1080p60, the recommended bitrate is higher because the frame rate is higher. Do not convert 25 or 30 fps news footage to 60 fps without a production reason. YouTube’s listed 1080p recommendations cover 30 and 60 fps; for a 25 fps source, choose a deliberate workflow and check the resulting ingest in Live Control Room rather than treating an unlisted rate as an official recommendation. The reviewed guidance does not specify a Hindi-specific encoding requirement. YouTube’s live encoder settings
FFmpeg command for a 1080p30 H.264 stream
This command is a documented-options-based starting point, not a tested or universally guaranteed recipe. It scales to 1920Ă—1080 and sets output to 30 fps; use it only when 30 fps is your intended output cadence.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
ffmpeg -re -i replay.mp4
-vf "scale=1920:1080,fps=30"
-c:v libx264 -pix_fmt yuv420p
-b:v 10M -minrate 10M -maxrate 10M -bufsize 20M
-g 60 -keyint_min 60 -sc_threshold 0
-c:a aac -b:a 128k -ar 44100
-f flv 'rtmps://<YouTube-ingest-url>/<stream-key>'
- Replace
replay.mp4with your input file. - Replace the output placeholder with the RTMPS server URL and stream key shown in YouTube Live Control Room. Treat the stream key as a password.
- Confirm your installed FFmpeg build includes
libx264. The command sets a 60-frame GOP, which equals two seconds at 30 fps.
The bitrate and GOP flags express the intended configuration; they do not guarantee strict constant-rate output across every FFmpeg build. If your intended output is 1080p60, change the frame-rate filter to 60, use -b:v 12M -minrate 12M -maxrate 12M -bufsize 24M, and set -g 120 -keyint_min 120 for a two-second GOP. Preserve the source’s true cadence unless conversion is intended. FFmpeg documents the bitrate and GOP controls in its command-line documentation and libx264 options.
Prepare and validate the live stream
- In YouTube Live Control Room, create or select the stream and copy its encoder URL and stream key into FFmpeg’s output. YouTube provides these for encoder delivery; keep the key private. YouTube: go live with an encoder
- Check stable upload capacity before the broadcast, and leave headroom beyond the target video bitrate for audio and network variation. YouTube advises matching settings to the connection and testing before going live. YouTube encoder settings
- Test with a representative segment containing movement and speech, not only a static slate. Watch the stream health messages in Live Control Room while the encoder is running.
- Confirm that YouTube detects the expected resolution and frame rate. YouTube transcodes live streams into multiple output formats for different viewer devices and network conditions. YouTube live streaming overview
- Choose stream latency in Live Control Room according to the program. Lower latency can increase playback buffering; DVR allows viewers to pause and resume a live stream. YouTube live latency and DVR
Do not add -tune zerolatency automatically for a prerecorded replay: it is not required by the settings guidance, and an interactive low-latency requirement has not been established for this use case.

Common problems and fixes
- FFmpeg reports that
libx264is unavailable: the installed build may not include that encoder. Confirm encoder availability in the build you installed or use a build that includeslibx264. - YouTube does not detect the intended resolution or frame rate: check the input properties, filter chain, and Live Control Room ingest status. Avoid unintended frame-rate conversion.
- Stream health reports bitrate or connection trouble: verify the actual upload connection and whether it can sustain the configured target; test again with representative footage and monitor the health messages.
- Video looks choppy or motion differs from the source: remove an unnecessary conversion to 30 or 60 fps and use the source cadence where feasible. A 25 fps source needs a deliberate workflow because YouTube’s cited 1080p table lists 30 and 60 fps recommendations.
- The stream disconnects or fails to ingest: check that the RTMPS URL and current stream key were copied correctly from Live Control Room, then restart the encoder and inspect YouTube’s ingest status.
Copyright and replay eligibility
Encoding settings do not grant rights to rebroadcast a news recording. Before streaming, confirm you have permission to use the footage, music, voice tracks, graphics, and any third-party clips in the replay. Reused footage may also raise channel-policy questions independently of whether the stream encodes cleanly. Review YouTube’s current copyright guidance and YouTube channel monetization policies.
