Schedule the event in YouTube Studio, confirm the time shown in Live Control Room, and publish the time with its timezone clearly labeled. YouTube’s current Live scheduling instructions do not establish whether the Studio time field uses the creator’s local timezone or provide a timezone selector, so verify the event before promoting it. Share the scheduled watch page so viewers can set a reminder.
Choose an anchor time and label every conversion
Start with the property’s main audience and a time the host can reliably present. Choose one anchor timezone, then convert that time for the other regions you want to reach, using the event date so seasonal clock changes are accounted for. There is no universally best hour established for property tours.
In every invitation, listing page, email, and social post, write the timezone next to the time—for example, “10:00 a.m. Eastern Time / 2:00 p.m. UTC,” after checking the conversion for the actual date. YouTube’s official Live scheduling instructions do not say whether the time entered in Studio is interpreted in the creator’s local zone or offer a timezone selector. Check the displayed time in the current Live Control Room before you announce it.
Do not infer Live scheduling behavior from YouTube’s separate scheduled-video publishing instructions. That workflow explicitly asks uploaders to set a timezone and says a public video’s watch-page publication date is based on Pacific Standard Time; it concerns scheduled uploads, not scheduled Live broadcasts. For programmatic scheduling, the Live API represents snippet.scheduledStartTime as an ISO 8601 datetime, but that does not establish how the Studio form handles or displays timezones: YouTube Live API documentation.

Schedule the tour in YouTube Studio
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live, then open the Manage tab.
- Create the scheduled event. Choose Schedule stream. Reuse settings or create a new stream, enter the event details, and set its visibility.
- Save, then verify the time. Review the scheduled event in Live Control Room before promoting it. Because YouTube’s Live instructions do not document the time field’s timezone basis, do not assume a conversion—state the timezone explicitly in your promotions.
- Share the upcoming watch page. Use the event’s canonical YouTube watch-page URL in your property listing and communications. Viewers can open it and choose Notify me to get a reminder.
These steps follow YouTube’s encoder livestream scheduling instructions. Ecamm’s support page says its own scheduling workflow uses the Mac’s timezone and that YouTube announcement posts aim to show viewers their local time; that is vendor-specific information, not conclusive documentation of the current Studio scheduling form: Ecamm scheduling guidance.
Prepare a tour viewers can follow
Plan the route and narration
Choose a logical room order and note the features to show, transitions between spaces, and places to pause for questions. YouTube recommends planning content to limit unwanted pauses. A simple route outline is especially useful when you are walking while presenting.

Test privately before the public event
Run an unlisted stream using the actual camera, microphone, connection, and route. Check framing, sound, lighting, and how the setup handles movement through the property. YouTube recommends testing audio, video, and equipment with an unlisted stream before going public: YouTube filming tips.
Choose a streaming method that fits the production
A phone or webcam can suit a straightforward walkthrough; an encoder is intended for a production using more controlled inputs or hardware. YouTube describes mobile as suitable for vlogging and quick updates, webcam as computer-based, and encoder streaming as an option for production hardware. For a moving property tour, prioritize steady framing and intelligible narration over extra production complexity. YouTube recommends professional-grade encoders for higher-production-value events: YouTube streaming options.

A tripod or smartphone mount can reduce shake while walking, and an external microphone may improve audio. These are optional equipment suggestions, not requirements for scheduling or streaming; using existing equipment is reasonable.
Check vertical and horizontal presentation
YouTube’s Live Control Room currently describes dual-format streaming, with a center-cropped vertical stream by default and options such as fit-to-phone-width or stacked layouts. A room tour often needs a wide horizontal view, so preview the mobile crop before relying on dual format. You cannot add the vertical layout after a stream has started. Confirm the available layout controls in Live Control Room for your event.

Start on time and end cleanly
- Allow setup time. YouTube recommends setting up an encoder at least two hours before the event and starting it at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start. Treat these as YouTube’s preparation recommendations, not a guarantee of connection time.
- Connect and check preview. Start sending the encoder feed, then confirm that Live Control Room receives it and that the preview shows the expected picture and sound.
- Start the event in Studio. When the feed is ready, click Go live in Live Control Room. Keep monitoring the audio and video while conducting the tour.
- Finish both ends. End the stream in Live Control Room and stop sending from the encoder. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived.
Troubleshoot schedule and production problems
- The promoted time seems wrong: Reopen the event in Live Control Room and verify the displayed start time. Correct your promotional copy to show the intended timezone and its checked conversions; do not rely on scheduled-video timezone behavior to interpret a Live event.
- Viewers cannot find the event: Check that you shared the scheduled event’s watch-page link, not a different channel or stream URL, and that the event’s visibility matches your intended audience.
- The preview has not appeared: Confirm that the encoder is sending to the scheduled event and that the selected stream key and event correspond. Allow for connection setup, then check the encoder’s connection status and Live Control Room preview before clicking Go live.
- Picture or sound is poor: Recheck framing, lighting, microphone placement, and the connection. Repeat the unlisted test with the same route and equipment so movement-related issues are visible before the public tour.
- The vertical view cuts off important details: Preview the crop and select an available fit or stacked layout before starting. The vertical layout cannot be added after the stream begins.
