To convert Indian music videos for a 24/7 YouTube livestream, first confirm you have the rights to stream every video, then inspect the files and transcode only those that need a consistent H.264 workflow. For YouTube ingest, use H.264 over RTMPS, constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval and AAC or MP3 audio. Conversion prepares the media; it does not keep a broadcast online. Continuous streaming also needs a playout encoder, a stable connection and monitoring.
Before converting, clear the music rights and check channel eligibility
Rights are a prerequisite, not a codec setting. Confirm that your permission covers both the audiovisual music video and the underlying sound recording and composition, for the intended territories and live use. YouTube’s livestream terms require the necessary rights for live content, including music licensing rights.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A match may trigger a warning or placeholder image; if it remains, YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate the stream. If you have a license, ask the rights holder whether your channel must be added to its Content ID allowlist: YouTube notes that licensed content can still be interrupted if the channel is not allowlisted. See YouTube’s live copyright guidance. If the stream is archived, claims on that archive may be made after the live broadcast ends.
Before planning the broadcast, confirm the channel is verified and has no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. YouTube’s current getting-started guidance lists up to 10 active streams per channel and three active streams per stream key; platform rules can change, so check the page when setting up.

Inventory the files before choosing H.264 settings
Make a simple inventory of each video before batch processing. Record its resolution, frame rate, aspect ratio, scan type, audio channel count and audio sample rate. This helps identify outliers and prevents a batch preset from needlessly changing good source material. The files in your own collection determine the appropriate profile; there is no single setting that suits every music video.
- Note whether video is progressive or interlaced and whether the frame rate is 30, 60 or another value.
- Check whether the frame is standard widescreen or another aspect ratio; avoid stretching the image to fill the frame.
- Record whether audio is stereo or 5.1 and its sample rate. Do not silently downmix multichannel audio or resample it without deciding that is the intended output.
- Keep an untouched source copy. H.264 conversion is not an enhancement: lossy re-encoding can reduce quality.
Choose an output profile that matches the source and YouTube ingest
YouTube lists H.264, H.265/HEVC and AV1 among its supported live video codecs, with a maximum listed frame rate of 60 fps. For this workflow, choose H.264 in the playout encoder and use RTMPS for encrypted delivery. YouTube recommends CBR and a two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds. Its full encoder settings are the reference for the ingest configuration.

For standard SDR material, YouTube’s advanced settings recommend progressive scan, square pixels, Rec. 709 and 8-bit video. The listed advanced settings also include two B-frames, one reference frame and CABAC. Keep the output frame rate aligned with the content where practicable, and do not upscale a low-resolution file expecting to create detail it never contained.
H.264 ingest bitrate by resolution and frame rate
The figures below are YouTube’s H.264 live-ingest settings: minimum and recommended bitrates in Mbps. They are platform guidance, not a guarantee of visual quality. Source quality, motion, frame rate and stable upload capacity all matter.

Choose a target the source can sustain and the connection can deliver consistently. A nominally faster connection is not enough if upload capacity fluctuates; test the actual path at the intended resolution and bitrate.
Audio settings for stereo and 5.1
YouTube recommends AAC or MP3 for audio. For stereo, its recommendation is 44.1 kHz and 128 Kbps. For 5.1 delivered over RTMP or RTMPS, AAC is the supported choice, with a recommendation of 48 kHz and 384 Kbps. Preserve the intended channel layout and check representative files for clipping, silence and sync before building a long playlist.

Convert only files that need it
YouTube’s live-ingest documentation defines stream settings, but does not prescribe a particular desktop conversion program or command. Choose a media application that can inspect the source and export H.264 video with the chosen audio format and profile. Apply one consistent output profile only where it is needed for your playout pipeline.
- Open the source file and inspect its video and audio properties against your inventory.
- If it is already compatible with the planned playout system, test it without re-encoding first.
- For incompatible or inconsistent files, export H.264 video at the chosen resolution and frame rate, with progressive scan for standard SDR output and the intended aspect ratio.
- Set the live encoder’s output to CBR and a two-second keyframe interval, selecting the bitrate that matches the live output resolution and frame rate in YouTube’s table.
- Export audio as AAC or MP3 for stereo, or AAC for 5.1 over RTMP/RTMPS, using the relevant YouTube recommendation above.
- Play the converted result from beginning to end and check image geometry, motion, sound, channel layout and synchronization before adding it to a continuous playlist.
Do not treat a higher output resolution or bitrate as a substitute for a better source. Re-encoding can make file formats more consistent for playout, but cannot restore detail lost in the original or improve a poor master.

Set up a playout encoder and test the stream
Converted files need a playout process to deliver them to YouTube. YouTube lists software and hardware encoder options; hardware is optional, not a requirement for transcoding. For example, its encoder directory describes the AJA HELO Plus as a standalone H.264 encoder that can schedule prerecorded media. Compare any option against your actual needs: prerecorded playback and looping, H.264 and audio output, RTMPS support, monitoring and recovery, and your budget and technical capacity.
- In YouTube’s live setup, obtain the stream key and RTMPS ingest details for the broadcast. Keep the key private; anyone with access may be able to send a feed to your stream.
- Configure the encoder or playout software with the selected RTMPS endpoint, stream key, H.264 output, CBR, keyframe interval and matching bitrate. Use the audio settings that match the channel layout.
- Build the playlist from rights-cleared files and set the playout system to repeat or schedule them as intended. Confirm how it behaves at the end of a file and between clips; a brief gap or silence can be significant in a continuous broadcast.
- Run a representative test containing both music and motion. Check the YouTube preview, stream health, audio sync, image quality and whether the playlist advances correctly.
- Monitor the running stream for feed loss, audio silence, network failure and rights interruptions. Have a person or monitoring process able to detect problems and respond; YouTube’s general guidance does not promise 24/7 uptime or prescribe a complete failover design.
