Streamlabs Mobile is documented for broadcasting a phone’s camera or screen to YouTube; its official guides do not document looping a prerecorded video file unattended 24/7. If you want a continuous channel built from existing videos, use a computer encoder or a hosted service that explicitly supports file playback and looping. If you use Streamlabs Mobile, treat it as a live camera or screen workflow—not a verified prerecorded-video playout system.
First, identify what you want to broadcast
A video playing on your phone screen
Streamlabs Mobile’s documented workflow lets you broadcast a camera feed or share your phone screen. Screen sharing may show a video that is playing on the device, but that is not the same as adding a local file as a looping source. Streamlabs’ YouTube-from-phone guide and mobile guide do not establish a built-in file playlist or unattended 24/7 loop. Do not rely on screen capture as a file-looping feature unless the current app documentation confirms the exact behavior you need.
A prerecorded video playing repeatedly
For an existing recording or playlist, choose computer software or a hosted encoder whose current documentation explicitly supports file playback and looping to YouTube. YouTube describes encoder-based streaming for advanced productions and explains how to provide an encoder with the stream URL and key: YouTube’s encoder guide. Encoder menus and loop controls depend on the software you select, so verify them in that product’s current documentation and test the actual video before going public.
Check that your YouTube channel can go live
Eligibility differs by method. YouTube’s general setup guidance requires a verified channel and no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days; see YouTube’s live-streaming setup instructions. YouTube’s mobile help additionally lists at least 50 subscribers, enabled live streaming, and a possible wait of up to 24 hours for first activation, alongside its device guidance. Those are requirements in YouTube’s mobile guidance, not a universal subscriber threshold for every encoder workflow: check YouTube’s mobile live-streaming requirements for current details.

When using an adapter, if the device is recognized as USB 2.0, try using the other side with the USB-C port. Simply flip the capture card and reconnect it to be recognized as USB 3.0
Streamlabs says its app does not impose its own follower-count limit in its phone-streaming guide. That does not override YouTube’s channel eligibility rules. Confirm the requirements for the specific method you plan to use before preparing a long broadcast.
Set up a prerecorded stream with an encoder
The exact controls depend on the encoder; the following is the YouTube-side workflow. Use the encoder’s current instructions for selecting a local file, enabling repeat playback, and setting output options.

- Prepare the source. Confirm the video and audio play correctly from beginning to end. If the encoder offers looping or playlist playback, test what happens at the end of a file and between items. Confirm that the audio does not cut out or drift during a long test.
- Create or select a YouTube broadcast. In YouTube Live Control Room, set up the broadcast and choose the encoder streaming workflow. The labels and available choices can change; follow YouTube’s current encoder setup guide.
- Configure the encoder. Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube into the corresponding fields in the encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it. If a key is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube before the next broadcast.
- Start a private test first. Start the encoder and check the Live Control Room preview. Confirm the correct picture, stable audio, and expected playback or looping behavior before making the broadcast public. YouTube recommends testing and checking stream health; its encoder tips also advise monitoring audio and video.
- Plan how to operate the stream. Decide who will check the broadcast, what to do if the encoder or connection stops, and how you will restart it. For an unattended channel, test recovery rather than assuming the encoder will resume automatically.
Plan around YouTube’s archive limit
YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. The guidance does not promise a complete archive for a broadcast longer than 12 hours. If you need a replay, plan around sessions shorter than that stated threshold or keep a separate local recording, and verify the finished archive rather than assuming a continuous all-day broadcast will produce one complete replay. YouTube’s encoder guidance covers the archive statement.
Choose the workflow that fits the job
| Workflow | Best match | Check before relying on it |
|---|---|---|
| Streamlabs Mobile | Phone camera, real-world footage, or a phone-screen broadcast | Channel eligibility, device support, power and network plans, and whether screen sharing is truly the source you need |
| Computer encoder | Local prerecorded files, playlists, and controlled production | File looping, audio continuity, stream-key setup, recovery behavior, and a full test |
| Hosted continuous-stream service | Unattended operation from a cloud service | Documented file and playlist support, recovery terms, YouTube compatibility, archive behavior, content-rights controls, pricing, and monitoring options |
YouTube’s encoder page identifies Upstream.so as a cloud studio for 24/7 live video streaming, but that identification alone does not establish particular file-looping features, uptime, pricing, or terms. Verify any service’s current documentation before choosing it.

Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for keeping a channel live from uploaded videos. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops the uploaded material in the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. Each slot streams the uploaded file as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; StreamNeo also says it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
The first day is free with no card. Monthly service is $9.99 per month. For a prerecorded YouTube channel, that means nothing has to stay powered at home, no quality tier is needed up to 4K 60fps, and the service is designed to recover if YouTube drops the stream. Start with the free StreamNeo day.

Troubleshoot the common failure points
The channel cannot start a live stream
Check verification, live-streaming enablement, and any recent restrictions in YouTube Studio. If you are using YouTube’s mobile app, check the mobile-specific eligibility requirements as well; a first activation may take time. Do not assume that a Streamlabs app setting can bypass a YouTube account restriction.
Streamlabs Mobile is not showing the prerecorded file as a source
The documented app workflow covers camera and screen sharing, not a confirmed local-file loop. Use an encoder or service with documented file playback and looping instead of assuming a missing source can be enabled through a hidden setting.

The encoder is live, but the preview is wrong or silent
Check that the intended source is selected, that the file itself has audio, and that the encoder is sending the expected picture and sound. Check the Live Control Room preview before going public, then make a short test recording or private test stream to verify transitions and audio continuity. YouTube’s encoder tips recommend testing and monitoring.
A Streamlabs Mobile YouTube broadcast will not go live
Streamlabs marked a reported set of YouTube mobile go-live issues resolved on September 3, 2026. If the same symptoms persist, its notice suggests trying horizontal format or selecting an existing broadcast: Streamlabs’ YouTube mobile issue notice. App behavior can change, so consult the current notice and app version.
Protect the rights behind the playlist
A file being available to you does not by itself establish that you have permission to rebroadcast it. Before scheduling a continuous playlist, confirm you have the necessary rights for the video, music, images, and other included material. YouTube’s copyright and monetization rules can affect a stream and its archive; check the current policies and your channel’s status before broadcasting. A test verifies the technical workflow, not content rights.
