What StreamYard’s scheduled prerecorded feature does—and does not do
StreamYard’s help article describes selecting a video, destination, date and time to create an automatically starting broadcast. It is useful for a finite scheduled broadcast, but a video ending ends the broadcast; the feature description does not establish continuous playlist looping.

StreamYard says broadcasts can be scheduled up to 365 days ahead. For YouTube, the shareable link is created at the announcement-post time, or when the broadcast goes live if there is no scheduled announcement. Its prerecorded streams are no longer automatically saved to the StreamYard library. During prerecorded playback, comments may be visible on the destination but are not shown on-stream, and overlays or media assets cannot be controlled as in a normal live studio broadcast. Before going live, check YouTube eligibility and limits
YouTube’s official live-streaming help says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions during the prior 90 days. Live content must follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. YouTube may age-restrict or remove a stream, or restrict a creator’s ability to livestream.

- YouTube documents up to 10 active streams per channel and three active streams per stream key (YouTube Help, accessed 2026). These are platform concurrency limits, not uptime promises.
- Only use video, music, images and other material you have the right to stream. A prerecorded format does not exempt a broadcast from YouTube’s rules or copyright obligations.
- Plan how viewers will access the live event and whether you need an archived replay; a 24/7 stream’s archive behavior differs from a short broadcast.
Understand the replay trade-off for 24/7 streams
Restream’s YouTube setup guidance, dated July 9, 2026, says YouTube archives streams only when they are under 12 hours. Do not assume a continuous 24/7 broadcast will produce one complete replay. If a replay is important, verify current YouTube behavior and plan a separate recording or shorter broadcast segments; the available guidance does not establish a universal archiving method for every service. - Actual looping: Does it repeat one video or rotate a playlist continuously, or does it stop after one scheduled video?
- Local-computer dependency: Does streaming continue if your computer is shut down, or must you operate an encoder continuously?
- Recovery: What happens if YouTube disconnects the feed? Confirm whether reconnection is automatic and what you must do after a prolonged outage.
- Media and quality limits: Check file size, storage, duration and supported output quality against your source material.
- Event controls: Confirm how the YouTube event is created, scheduled, titled and shared, and whether the provider allows the controls you need while it is live.
- Replay and records: Establish what is saved by YouTube or the provider, and what happens to a long-running broadcast archive.
- Current total cost and support: Compare the billing period, number of simultaneous slots, storage allowance and support terms—not just a headline starting price.
