Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →In OBS, add your piano audio or audio/video file as a Media Source and enable Loop. That makes OBS replay the file when it ends. For the join to sound seamless, however, the end of the recording must also connect cleanly to its beginning: OBS’s loop setting does not create a crossfade or repair an abrupt musical transition. Listen to the join before relying on a long broadcast.
Prepare music you are allowed to livestream
Use music you created or have permission to livestream and archive. YouTube’s livestream terms make the provider responsible for having the necessary rights, including music licensing rights. YouTube also scans live streams for third-party content; a stream may be interrupted or terminated. Even licensed music can be interrupted if its owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. Crediting a composer or buying a copy of a recording does not, by itself, grant livestream rights.
Read YouTube’s livestream terms and its guidance on copyright issues with live streams. If a rights holder needs to allowlist your channel, contact them before the broadcast.
Choose one file or a playlist
One continuous piano recording
Use an OBS Media Source if the broadcast should repeat one local audio or video file. OBS lists MP3, AAC, OGG and WAV audio formats, and MP4, TS, MOV, FLV, MKV, AVI, GIF and WebM video formats. In the source’s properties, enable Loop. OBS describes the setting as replaying the file once playback has completed. See the OBS Media Sources documentation.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
A set of recordings
For multiple files, OBS offers a VLC Video source with a Loop Playlist property. VLC must be installed for that source to appear in OBS. Use this when you want a sequence of files rather than one recording; check the playlist order and listen to transitions between tracks as well as the return from the last track to the first.
Make the audio join sound seamless
Looping playback and seamless editing are separate things. OBS restarts the source file; its documentation does not say that it crossfades the ending into the beginning or fixes a gap, click, abrupt chord change or volume jump. The source itself must have a suitable ending-to-start transition.

- Add the source and enable its loop setting.
- Preview the end of the file followed immediately by its beginning. Repeat this check several times, listening for silence, a click, a sudden change in loudness, or a musical phrase that feels cut off.
- If the join is distracting, revise the source recording or choose a different recording with a compatible ending and opening. Do not assume the OBS loop switch will smooth it out.
- Check the join again in the OBS preview and during YouTube’s stream preview before leaving the broadcast unattended.
A loop setting guarantees repeated playback behavior, not a particular sound quality at the boundary.
Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or select the stream. YouTube’s live stream settings guide explains how to manage the stream settings.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the stream, then enter them in OBS’s streaming or encoder settings. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup instructions for the current interface. Treat the key as private: YouTube describes stream keys as like the stream’s password and address.
- Start the stream from OBS and check the Live Control Room preview before treating the broadcast as ready for viewers.
YouTube lists a verified channel and no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days among its requirements. Its general setup guidance also says a livestreamer must be at least 16. Check the current YouTube live-streaming eligibility and setup requirements for your account.

Preview, monitor and end the broadcast
YouTube recommends preparing encoder streams in advance, checking accessibility on watch or channel pages and mobile, and continuously monitoring audio and video quality. For a piano loop, make the end-to-start boundary part of that check: confirm that the music is audible, the picture is present if you are using video, and the join does not introduce silence or an abrupt level change. See YouTube’s live-streaming tips.
End the broadcast deliberately and check the resulting archive. YouTube says encoder streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Check YouTube’s current interface and policy before relying on archive behavior for a longer broadcast.

Troubleshoot common loop problems
- The file stops instead of repeating: Open the Media Source properties and confirm Loop is enabled. For a playlist, use VLC Video and check Loop Playlist; VLC must be installed for that source type to appear.
- There is a gap, click or abrupt change at the restart: The source’s ending and opening do not make a clean musical transition. OBS’s loop property does not repair the seam; revise or replace the source and test again.
- The playlist source is missing: Confirm VLC is installed, then check the available OBS source types again.
- YouTube does not receive the stream: Check that OBS has the stream URL and key for the selected YouTube stream, and that the key was copied correctly. Keep the key private.
- The stream is interrupted over music rights: Check your livestream rights and whether the rights holder needs to allowlist your channel through Content ID. A licence does not necessarily prevent interruption when the channel is not allowlisted.
- The archive is unavailable after a long stream: YouTube’s stated automatic-archive condition is for encoder streams under 12 hours. Do not rely on automatic archiving for a longer broadcast without checking current YouTube guidance.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you want a prerecorded piano video to keep looping on YouTube without leaving a home computer running, StreamNeo is a cloud service for continuous YouTube streams from uploaded videos. - Your upload streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot rather than quality tiers.
- StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
